Looking for a new and affordable RPG to sink your teeth into? Justice Chronicles launches today on Nintendo Switch.
The latest release from Kemco, this RPG actually appeared on the 3DS back in 2016. We gave that version of the game a 6/10 score in our review, saying, "while there's no masterful writing or great innovation at play here, an interesting battle system and tried-and-true gameplay loop means that Justice Chronicles succeeds as a slice of low-priced comfort gaming."
The eShop listing promises 40 hours of gameplay, with animated turn-based battles, plenty of side quests, material collection, and weapon crafting all playing their part in making up that time. It's available to download at 10% off for today only, down to £12.14 / $13.49 from its usual £13.49 / $14.99 asking price.

Kemco ? Not really interested. I played a lot of free rpg maker games who were a lot better than Kemco games. 😅
Am I interested?
…no, lol sorry
I'm going to have to try a Kemco game one of these days
The idea of wasting 40 hours of my life on a Kemco RPG of all things is not very appealing.
The kemco obsession continues , I don’t hate what they do but having played one of their games It just felt very ‘meh’.
As someone who loves JRPGs, there are far too many great, long ones to spend 40 hours on a mediocre one.
At least Ike from Fire Emblem is in this one.
That's sad, I wish I could give these RPGs a try but there are so many other good games on my backlog...
If it’s Kemco then it’s probably shovelware so no way would I waste time and money on it. Maybe I’ll give it a go when my sanity has departed.
I've been playing the NES Dragon Warrior IV. It's pretty slow-going, and definitely will take me more than 40 hours to get through, but it's pretty fun nonetheless.
I guess the Kemco RPGs are going for this old-fashioned style of RPG. I don't have anything against them, but I don't particularly want to try them when I still have so many Dragon Quest games of this style to get through first.
@tsdenizen I would argue there's likely more value in replaying a classic, too.
Oh Nintendo Life and Kemco. Seriously just rebrand the site already to Kemco Life and be done.
Will only pick it up during a sale. The later Kemco RPGs does seem to get better though so I may come back to this.
@Expa0 30 of those hours are just grinding
@Moonsorrow999 yeah I dont get it. This site is usually pretty good on the stuff it covers and there is rarely any shovelware. But for some reason they love posting Kemco shovelware. Either they arent reading the comments section to get a feel for their readers expectations, or these are paid sponsored articles. Because every single Kemco article they post has the comment section bombed by anti Kemco comments.
Theyd be better off posting articles for 99 cent calculator apps. Theyd get less reader remorse.
@Tim_Vreeland I tend to find the news reports really good and quick but some of the writing is quite poor. Others it’s really good. I really want Kemco to be good, I’d love for them to be but they write more about it than Zelda!
Why does this site push Kemco so much, knowing how trash their games are? I mean even in the dialogue in this article they claim 6/10 as if its a selling point. These games aren't worth your time lol
10 hours is the perfect length for a comfort-food mediocre RPG. 40 is just way too long.
Oh, that's the one with the Ragnarok Online sprites.
@moodycat Start with Marnian Tavern Story- that one actually had a budget and it’s got an Atelier-lite feel to it.
@WCB I played Ghost Sync, Ruinvere, an Chroma Quarternion literally back to back and enjoyed all 3. Give one of those a go.
@StardusterEX I thoroughly enjoyed Ghost Sync, Ruinverse, and Chroma Quarternion. Just played all 3 back to back. I'll check out that game....
@DiamondJim just played 3 games back to back from them. Looking for another now. I enjoyed them. They're great old school style games.
@Froid12 too bad. I just played Ghost Sync, Ruinverse, and Chroma Quarternion back to back. I enjoyed them all and for the money, great deal on an old school rpg.
@Joe-b bunch of games that I recommand.
Free: Tales of the Drunken Paladin, Star Stealing Prince, Weird and Unfornutate Things are Happening, Luxaren Allure, Villnoire, Grimm's Hollow, OFF, Umbral Soul, Soma Spirits Rebalance, Soma Union.
Not Free: Omori, Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass, Heartbeat, To the Moon, OneShot, Doom and Destiny Advanced (available on the Switch), Hylics, Lisa: The Painful, Cosmic Star Heroine (available on the Switch).
All of these games are so good and original, however only Doom and Destiny Advanced and Cosmic Star Heroine are on the Switch. The rest of the games are available on PC (Steam). 😁
@Joe-b One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. If you’re getting enjoyment out of it then that’s what matters cos all our opinions are just subjective.
@DiamondJim sure is. If you decide to try one...try one of the ones I mentioned. Ghost Sync of Chroma Quarternion. As far as RPG's go, I still think DQ XI S is the best RPG on Switch. But again that's subjective.
@Froid12 thanks, I'll check out the Switch games. You know what game I would love to come to Switch? Ys 1. I look for news on that quite a bit. I'd love to see it.
@tsdenizen it may not be too bad though. I'll check for reviews. But I played Kemco's Ghost Sync, Chroma Quarternion, and Ruinverse back to back. I liked them. I really should say Exe Create, they develop the game.
@ItsATM Trash? I just played Ruinverse, Ghost Sync, and Chroma Quarternion back to back and enjoyed all of them. They're old school RPGs, and under $15.
@Joe-b Ys games are so good. Same thing for Trails games. In brief, anything from Falcom. 😁
