In the lead up to the release of Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition on the Nintendo Switch, the game's producer Matt Walker has been sharing videos about the brand new extra features in this latest iteration.
Following on from the videos about style and weapon switching, Walker's now revealed players will be able to team up with a local co-op partner in the game's survival mode, Bloody Palace. This mode will allow you to take control of Dante or his twin brother Vergil, and you can play with Joy-Con or a Pro Controller.
As noted in the video above, you'll be able to access this after playing through the introduction mission in the game and you can even select different save data and controller configurations. Walker also spoke about how he saw fans speculating about the Master Sword from The Legend of Zelda series being added to the game, and while he thought that was a great idea, he said, unfortunately, there's no chance of it happening.
Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition launches on the Nintendo Switch later this month on 20th February and you can pre-purchase it from the Switch eShop right now. Will you be adding this one to your collection? Tell us below.

I don’t recall playing this chapter during the PS2 era. May check it out once I clear my backlog, though. Dante would make for a marvelous addition to Smash if I’m being honest with myself.
Great! Would love co op in the main game but this is cool too. Definitely want this one as I never played past 2, either.
Is it the dang 20th yet? I need this now. Had it preloaded day one. This just makes it all so much sweeter. The additions are definitely worth the $20 price tag to me.
I know I've been hard on Capcom when it comes to their Switch support, but I've gotta give props to Capcom this time: they're doing an awesome job of making this Switch port worth the money bows.
But, I'm gonna hold off on this one for a while. There's always a possibility of them doing a physical (remember the Resident Evil 4 stunt they pulled?) a couple of months down the line and I prefer having a physical edition for a game I really loved back in the day. It's pretty much the game I bought a PS2 for and it ignited my love for hack & slash! ^^
Now we just need DMC 4 and we'll have the old generation of Devil May Cry all together on a portable device ^_^
Does anyone know when the Devil May Cry triple pack is supposed to release? Is it only releasing in Japan?
@Maschinenmensch Bloody Palace was added in the Special Edition along with Vergil mode. It’s really hard.
@nessisonett I meant I never played this third chapter in the trilogy. Sounds fun though.
@DTfeartheBEARD According to information from Play-Asia https://www.play-asia.com/blog/2019/11/27/devil-may-cry-triple-pack-physical-copy-for-switch-releases-on-february-20-next-year/ DCM triple pack will have physical release only in Japan, but as I can see there is a lot of stores, where you can preorder this game. So probably they will import this game from Japan. Ofc release date is 20 February.
Strange to see Capcom doing a port justice when we usual get over priced and zero extra features. RE4 to my knowledge still doesn't have motion control.
$20 is still a bit too much for me, but only because I played through it too many times already. At $10-12, this will be a no-brainer.
Now give us the rest of Onimusha games please!
@TyGadzieTy My understanding is the Japan only physical will include download codes for two of the games. Would those codes even work in a NA Eshop?
Great feature, but not one I can really use, so I can't really say this makes much of an impact on me personally, which is a shame, as Bloody Palace co-op sounds like a great idea.
@Bizzyb No they wouldn't, you would need to download them off the Japanese Eshop.
The games come in English on the Japanese Eshop though, so it would work out.
I'm glad all these ports of old PS2 and PS3 era games are being rereleased. It gives me an extra chance to play them as I only had a GCN and Wii back then. I'm looking forward to getting these, some DOOM games, & Saints Row games pretty soon.
Saints Row 4 arrives just 2 days before my birthday!
Oww that is cool tho!!
@Bizzyb As a Zeraki mention, these codes will not work with NA Eshop, but you can easily create a Japanese account on your Switch, and from this acc you can log in to Japan version of Eshop and download these games.
I did the same thing with A Hat in Time, I've imported this game from NA, and create an NA account, use code to DLC download it, and I can play on my Europe user account.
