Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath arrived on Switch last week and Nintendo has shared a launch trailer to show off what you'll be getting up to. Nope, we don't know why it's been uploaded this late, either.
The game's Switch reveal, which actually first appeared thanks to an EGX listing in September 2018, was quite the surprise; creator Lorne Lanning had previously stated that he had "no faith" in the Switch, believing that it would flop just like the Wii U. Still, here we are with the game on the ever-thriving Switch.
If you haven't picked up the game already, feel free to learn all about it by checking out our full review. Here's a snippet of what we had to say:
While the game has aged well for the most part, some imperfections have become more obvious with time. The stealth mechanics are nowhere near as fine-tuned as they should be, and can be ignored completely without compromising the player's experience. A lack of instruction in the latter part of the story could also cause frustration, and the slapstick drop of falling from a height will never be something that fits with the game's overall tone. Despite these rough edges, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath is still a joy to play on Switch, and if you didn't experience it the first time around, it's well worth a look now.
Remember, more Oddworld games have been promised for Switch, too. Looks like you'll soon be able to have quite the collection of titles from the series on your shiny hybrid console.

Funny how they are not showing that much gameplay, and mainly focus on the pretty good looking cutscenes in the trailer.
Or is that just me?
Why do the cutscenes have a strange frame rate? The gameplay footage seems to be fine. Isn't it normally the other way around? lol

Game plays great..and alot of that was gameplay btw.played it on xbox back in the day.i have it on the ps3 and of course it's on my switch
@Friendly I got to play it on a Nintendo stand at EGX in 2018 and it played great back then. From everything I have seen it looks great, just a shame the price is a little high for my liking.
It would have been a day 1 purchase for me at around £15.
"creator Lorne Lanning had previously stated that he had "no faith" in the Switch, believing that it would flop just like the Wii U."
Then 'faith' was restored when he realised he could make shed loads of money from porting old games with little development effort.
The Switch is so depressing sometimes.
Can’t wait for Abe’s Odyssey - Hot N Tasty
Oh whaaaaaat, this is on Switch now?!
I loved this game on Steam, but never finished it.
And as I found out in the comments under the review - oddly enough, the reviewer didn't mention it - the game has gyro aim for both the 1st and 3rd person perspective!
Wouldn't even have thought about buying it without motion controls.
