Today, both The Walking Dead: Season Two and The Walking Dead: A New Frontier have released on Nintendo Switch. Both are available to download from the eShop as we speak.
Both games were first announced for Switch way back in August 2018, where it was also revealed that The Walking Dead: The Complete First Season would be heading to the system. That game launched later that month, but the troubling issues at developer Telltale Games caused the other two titles to get left behind and they were expected to arrive in September 2019.
Skybound Games, the company which took over development duties on the franchise after Telltale's closure, soon revealed that they'd be delayed further still, although no new date had been given. Today, though, completely out of the blue, they're ready and waiting for fans to download and enjoy.
Both titles are available for $14.99 / £12.99 each.
Happy to see these two titles finally make their way to Switch? Let us know if you'll be grabbing them today with a comment below.

Oh, good two non games, with just a pretense of free choice because the game tells the story it wants anyway and nothing you do makes any difference what so ever. In a franchise that should shuffle back in the grave and stay there.
...And im supposed to be happy about this ?
i'll pass i got better actual games to buy and play instead of this sad pathetic excuse.
Confirmed: Rick Grimes will be playable on Smash. Final Smash will be a barrage of "Hey Korl" jokes
Noticed them on the eShop earlier. Still not sure if I'll ever bother getting them, but now that they're all there I can at least consider them. Wish list and wait for a potential good sale I guess.
Finally, the wait is over but now I can wait a little bit longer for them to go on sale!
Good if you haven't played before. Played it long ago on ios & PlayStation. Besides for the not so bright saying your decisions doesn't matter whatsoever, you can decide on killing kenny or let him live if you wished to season 2 precisely. Plus other decisions making in between.
@KitsuneNight Just because you don't like the genre of a particular game, doesn't make that game a non-game.
Very happy little surprise today. I bought the first season when it was first released and was so disappointed that it looked like the middle two wouldn’t ever arrive leaving the last season dangling like a true rotting corpse! Time to continue the saga, happy days. 😊 Glad to flag it Nintendolife team.
Season 2 is fantastic, but season 3 is absolutely hot garbage. The story of season 3 is just trash, the characters feel like bland cutouts and not like real people, the situations are dull, and above all else the main lead is a Gary Stu. Everyone acts like the main character is some worthy leader, despite the fact that every choice he makes completely screws everyone. No joke the main characters gets a safe haven destroyed, blown to buts killing tons if people. And yet a surviving member of the safe haven says he'll follow the main character to the grave, despite the fact that theyve only known each other 1 day and in that day the main character destroyed their safe haven. Killing all of the other guys friends, and even love interest.
@BenAV if you enjoyed the first game youll love 2, its fantastic. But avoid 3, its absolutely hot garbage
Why now when they could have released the full physical package of all 4 seasons as they did with the other consoles, months ago. If we did get all seasons physical like PS4 and X1 did, then sure why not, but now, it's too little too late I feel.
@KitsuneNight Haven't played these ones, but Batman Telltale Series and especially Enemy Within were entertaining games with some great storytelling. It's like watching a movie but being able to interact with it a bit. And that's completely fine.
@KitsuneNight you're not so bright i presume!! No need commenting if you don't like a game okay many others won't mind playing it(besides it's a well written story movie like game that's interesting for anyone searching for something different to play). Or are you the next anti-matter on this very site?
@BarefootBowser I keep thinking about this... I hope that the direct be so so mega hyper amazing, coz otherwise would be better to announce metro, bioshock and now TWD there...
@KitsuneNight What do you mean "are you supposed to be happy about it"? People into these types of games will be. Nobody cares if you specifically are happy.
@RudyC3 They can still potentially release them together as a full package in the future too. Even if they go down that route, they needed to release the rest individually anyway.
@patbacknitro18 I haven't played any of them. It's probably all or none for me.
@KitsuneNight Do you react like this to all games that aren't your style or is there something about these specific titles that spark this OTT reaction?
@patbacknitro18 you lied a story of Michonne standalone and it tells you about another character in the walking dead universe that you needed to know(her brief history) i find it interesting.. the season 3 is fun. Me frontier is season 4.
I wonder who the dev is though. For those ports I mean. Can't be Telltale Games, they're defunct. I know some of those guys joined Skybound Entertainment, but not all of them. I hope that means the ports are better than those of the first season. That one had quite a few glitches on Switch that never got fixed.
@BenAV i think you would really enjoy seasons 1 and 2. But season 3 is a massive let down. Honestly you could skip the entire game and you would be missing nothing. You could skip 3 and go straight into 4 and you would lose no information.
I'd re-buy all 4 seasons for $15 total
@patbacknitro18 i believe you on this one. However it doesn't make the season 3 bad. Just different.
Have them on Xbox one. Still haven't got round to playing last season. I would be so bloody happy if the wolf among us comes out ready for second one.
Wait a sec do we have season 1?
I might get Season 3 on sale down the road, despite hearing it's not very good. I enjoyed the first two seasons, as well as most of the other telltale games I played. I think I'd be in for a portable version for $4 or less.
Where's our Physical on 64gb carts????
RIP Nintendo Direct
Meh... let me know when/if they release The Wolf Among Us!
@Rpg-lover Hey man, that's kind of a major spoiler to people who haven't played the second or third.
I have played them and I agree with you, but please consider editing your comment to be more vague.
Wait, so all 4 seasons are on Switch finally?! YES! I can finally finish the series!
Glad they're out, but the series turned me away after the first season. None of the characters felt as compelling, I liked literally no one in Season 2, and trying to take care of AJ seems like the most illogical thing to do in a survival situation.
@garydbz25 Yeah, it came out just before Telltale ran into troubles.
