Epic has revealed the world's most famous Fortnite streamer Ninja now has his very own in-game skin.
This special Ninja outfit will be available from today on the item shop and includes Ninja's Edge Back Bling, a Ninja Style Emote, and Dual Katanas Pickaxe. This was the reaction from the man himself:
This is part of Epic's Icon Series, which brings "artistic vision, personality, and attitude" of the top creators to Fortnite, and builds upon the previous collabs with artists like Marshmello and Major Lazer.
Are you surprised it took Ninja this long to get his own skin in Fortnite? Comment below.

Gross. They shouldve did this when people gave a damn about Ninja...or Forrnite
@Gravitron People do though. Not as many as before I bet but they are out there.
I actually really like this
Surprised it didn't happen sooner. Me from 2017 would've thought this was cool, but present me couldn't care less .
Oh, good as if his ego isn't the size of Mount Everest to begin with.
I'm not trying to be a killjoy... I'm happy for anyone who enjoys Fortnite and/or Ninja... but this does reek of desperation.
Well, colour me unimpressed.
Happy for the little fella
@Kalmaro I have nieces and nephews I know it's still huge. Its not even a bad game just has a kiddy reputation which makes sense.
Imagine how pissed people would be if the next Smash fighter was just a Fortnite avatar with skins as the alts. People would riot. Although it would make sense for the conventions of Smash. Your UP B could be the glider, your SIDE B would be a variety of different gun attacks, your down B could be a pick axe swipe. I hate that it works but it would work pretty well in theory.
@KitsuneNight damn straight.
Well the game has come full circle now.
Idk theres some negativity in the comments but I am happy for him. I bet it euphoric to not only be one of the greats at your game but being in the game as well.
Theres more streamers than just Ninja... which means theres more icon skins ahead. Arguably a good community move, love or hate Ninja.
Hm. Isn't the game about killing each other?
Kinda creepy to add real-life people as skins.
Lol, fortnite has sold out. What a stupid thing to do.
Wow that’s a pretty pathetic dream.He should’ve dreamt to do something else with his life apart from playing this trash and drinking red bull....
Now you can refuse to Floss with Ninja in the actual game! Dreams do come true!
@Gravitron I would be kinda annoyed. Then again, I never had much interest in Terry and he's in so I try not to judge too much.
"Are you surprised it took Ninja this long to get his own skin in Fortnite?"
No, I'm more amused that streaming games can be a career. Good for him.
Upon purchase, all female skins are removed
I am shocked that Fortnite has given people with no talent a career. It's how the world is nowadays, I guess.
I don't like Fortnite or know who this Ninja guy is - but if I got something unique in a game I liked - it would be a dream come true for me. So I can say it's pretty cool overall.
@Quarth I'd call it more of a well paying job than a career. It remains to be seen how long term it can last. A lot of streamers and YouTubers rode the success of one game or another and get dramatically less views when they try to do anything else.
I know I am not alone in that, I watch the YouTubers and streamers that I do, based first on the games and second on the narrator. While a bad narrator will instantly shut me off to a streamer, I wont even bother with the most popular people if they don't do games I'm interested in watching.
I do think that those YouTubers and streamers who built themselves up, diverse from the start, have the potential to turn the job into a long term career. But those who grew huge around one game I expect to fizzle out eventually.
What do you think?
The hate train for fortnite and people that enjoy it is.. ehm, Unreal.
Surprised it took this long, would have made sense to cash in on it during his peak on Twitch.
@Heavyarms55 Yeah, you're right. I guess it's the same with streamers as with so called "influencers" and YouTubers: the popularity will eventually die down so they need to strike while the iron is hot, reminding everyone to like and subscribe, pushing merch and Patreon, etc. It can be quite annoying. I've never really followed someone in the streaming scene (market), but I watch some gaming channels on YouTube and some of them I've stopped bothering with (like BeatEmUps or MetalJesusRocks) as they don't feel genuine anymore: it feels like gaining subscribers and earning money is the main goal, not the passion for talking about video games.
@Quarth Even MetalJesusRocks? I watch him too and I've enjoyed his recent content - that new game room(s) he built is like, literally my dream man cave. Only difference is mine would be heavier on the anime.
Anyway what was your issue with him?
Back on topic, some influences do end up putting so much into pushing products and merch that it no longer feels genuine. That's absolutely true. It's a fine line - it is their job essentially but most of us did not watch them for whatever junk they are pushing - we watched them for something else.
@Heavyarms55 Oh, I don't know. He isn't the worst, it's just that he feels more like a collector showing off stuff he bought with Patreon and YouTube money than a gamer. I don't get enjoyment out of his channel, I'm not feeling it.
But there are worse channels out there like RGT85, DreamcastGuy and the aforementioned BeatEmUps.
I like Jim Sterling, sometimes he's funny. And the IGN NVC podcast.
One channel I can't stand anymore sadly is Angry Video Game Nerd.
@ShankyMcSpanky And he'll probably make more money this year than you'll ever make in your life.
@Quarth Huh, I guess. I considered him to be a collector in the first place so that doesn't bother me.
The only other one you mentioned that I have watched is AVGN, but I only ever really watched his AVGN series proper. I ignore 99% of the rest of his content. I certainly haven't stopped watching but his videos aren't as impressive to me as I've gotten older. A decade ago when I was fresh out of high school - he struck me as both interesting and edgy for his vulgar humor while still doing informative and interesting videos. But now now that same sort of humor just feels forced and distracting. It doesn't help that after a decade he's hit most of the best topics to cover. Combined with the fact that I know a lot more about gaming history in general now than I did then. It makes it even less interesting. Believe it or not, I didn't even know about Sega CD or 32x before I saw AVGN's videos.
@Heavyarms55 AVGN has sure gone downhill. I've heard he sold the rights to a company called Screenwave and that's why there are a lot of new guys appearing in the videos and writing the scripts.
Also there's been an increasing push of products, with AVGN marketing crappy mobile games and ass whiping shaving tools in his videos, on top of all the advertising that's already infesting YouTube.
Sometimes the newer nerd videos are funny, but they are not that informative anymore. Mostly it's just about getting angry. But the content has gone stale.
I know James Rolfe has a lot of fans and I respect him for what he has created, but it doesn't feel like a passion anymore, just a job.
Good thing I didn't become a world famous Fortnite streamer. That would've made a terrible skin.
Nope. I love Fortnite but not this.
I personally think it's great that people can make money from you tube / twitch, I'm not so sure they should be dogging viewers to sponsor them to fund, maybe they should have a membership of sorts but just something different to that. However I think is great that we are seeing all kinds of youtubers turning up on mainstream tv due to the attention their profile has made for them . For far too long we have to put up with lame tv presenters or actors that mainly come from a more privileged background, who likely got further in their career because of who they knew more than their talent.
Mike Matei > Ninja
I mean at the end of the day, it's a character with blue hair, a yellow head band, and ninja clothing/aesthetic. It's kind of what you'd expect in the game.
I'd be surprised if that weren't possible through some sort of character customization or whatever they have available, and it could have been a thing without it being about a specific recognizable individual.
New Smash character announced ahead of time?
@NintendoFan990 I suppose that’s true.But that’s thanks to all the people who watch him...
I played fortnite for about 5 weeks and had my fun with it back in season 4 or 5 (it was kinda Chinese themed season. I at least I think it was that type of theme). I had my fun with it and moved on.
I am surprised that it took this long for him to be added to the game. I would have expected that they would have added ninja to the game at least early last year or year and a half. Adding him now is too late in my opinion but it is better then not being added.
I feel like this is a clear jumping the shark moment.
Okay, I love fortnite. It’s by far my most played game one the switch. I don’t understand why I can’t enjoy it without the majority of the Nintendo jumping on me. I don’t like certian games on the switch, but I could care less if you enjoy them, because has different taste...
WhOs ReAdY fOr NiNjA iN sMaSh?!?!?!
@ShankyMcSpanky Don't blame me. Haven't watched a second of his stuff in my life.
Shouldn't it either be a nazi uniform or a klan robe?
@Quarth people have to make money, can't survive on passion anymore, its not possible in this era unfortunately.
p.s im not sure i buy that whole sold the rights thing in relation to james, but when he wants to do filming of an unrelated thing among other things including taking care of his family, he needs all the helps he can get as he can't simply push out episodes like he used to.
@Heavyarms55 I definitely think you have a point about variety online personalities. It seems like people who cover multiple games will have slower growth in the beginning but in the long term will have an easier time sustaining themselves than the people focusing on just one game. (The hot new game fades in and out and I feel like it's a bad idea to put all your eggs into one basket)
@Oat exactly.
Though people riding a series might be able to make it work. If it's long running like Pokemon or COD or something like like that.
@DarkLloyd Of course not, but you notice when something no longer is a passion and just becomes about money. It's sad. I don't say they shouldn't make money, but sometimes it seems to be the main concern making videos when earlier they did it for fun.
@NintendoFan990 Neither have I.But his fan base is disgusting...I despise them
@ShankyMcSpanky I'd imagine they're all 12 year olds.
@NintendoFan990 Well obviously.....
