To promote its upcoming September release, River City Girls, WayForward has shared a brief trailer over on Twitter and YouTube showcasing Misako – one of the heroines in the game, who is described as tough, impulsive and always ready for a fight.

I don't know anything else about this game but the idea of a girl and her friend setting out to rescue her boyfriend pleases me. Consider my attention caught.
Oh she's sweet but a Misako a little bit Misako.
Best girl comin' through. Also finally beat River city ransom a couple weeks back. Easiest boss fight ever.
This looks like it's gonna be a lot of fun. WayForward is the best.
Looking good, I guess I know what I’m getting in September.
I don't know why, but I'm kinda excited for this after seeing the trailer. Not a day one pickup, still one for me to keep an eye on. Haven't played any of the River City games, aside from the NES one via Switch Online with a friend. It was nice co-op fun.
If preorders open back up, ordering the SEA version of the game will be an option for those that don;t feel like waiting forever for a physical version from Limited Run

This game looks excellent and i am 100% getting it. I know there will be somekind of loose backstory but i still find the all girl cast a little odd. None of these characters seem particularly interesting and i need to feel that interest in who i'm controlling to really love a game. It would of been better if they had made them alrger than life as is the tradition of classic 2d beat-em-ups. Still cool though.
@Geeky_Ken Must be the hair.
River City Ransom is surprisingly fun for such a primitive game, but hopefully this one offers more than genderswaps.
So excited for this and the new Fatal Fury! Beat em Ups are due for a big comeback in my book. I want them with fighting game tech in them so ArcSys overseeing the combat mechanics will be interesting to say the least.
I still need to get the two 3DS title that came out over the last couple of years. But they never drop in price.
not sure if its the same person, but if its not, they should get the VA who did Saki in Zombiland Saga anime, to voice this chick.
People rave about WayForward games, but after trying 2 Shantae games and The Mummy Demastered I guess they just aren’t for me. I think if it weren’t from WayForward I would have more interest.
I dig it ... I will still wait for a review although I'm partial to the kunio games anyway and Way Forward.
