Pokémon: Let's Go launched yesterday, and we were lucky enough to get our grubby hands on a special Eevee version Switch bundle.

Naturally, we decided that an unboxing video was called for, so here we are. Enjoy.
What's in the box, 'mon?

Lets be honest though.
It's a bit of a let down of a game, its not bad though, if it didn't have so much riding on it, this won't be driving any sales for the holidays.
Its all Smash or bust now.
I find the pack absolutely not harmonious at all.
The colours of the joycons, the pictures on the dock look almost like a "Do It Yourself" sticker, the game is not physically inside of the box and the pokéball just put like that, even not in a box. o_O
Is this really the definition of a collector's edition ?
I really want those Joycon and that dock now. I used to not care about Pokemon stuff, but after playing the game a while, I'm starting to think about a way to conjure up those joycons and dock...
@Razer
??? Let down? I started playing last night and the game is incredible. Exceeding my expectations (that's like, the opposite of a let down).
Really though, the game is fantastic. I was never able to get into Pokemon before now, but I'm already hooked on this game. Stayed up until midnight playing, even though I had Civilization VI waiting (a game I got a PC for just to play). I just couldn't put down Pokemon. I LOVE the new mechanics. It's a nice balance of catching and battling, about 50/50, and the catching isn't so easy either, which surprised me because I didn't expect it to have as much depth as it does. I still dont quite understand everything about it but, I'm having a blast, and that's all that matters (I especially like seeing all the Pokemon in the world and choosing the ones I encounter).
Absolutely love it, mine came yesterday and I was up far later into this morning that I should have been, catching pokemon. So much nostalgia from the gameboy years. Pokeball plus is fun, albeit noisy at night. My partner didn't appreciate the noise from catching pokemon at 2am lol. It's a great foray for those new to the series, and also a great revisiting for seasoned pokemon fans.
That's what games are supposed to be about right, fun!!
@Cobalt You could say about most modern consoles these days.
the Limited Edition of the Spider Man PS4 bundle is just a red PS4 with a white spider logo sticker...with a red controller with white buttons... "WOW"
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Limited-Amazing-Marvels-Spider-Man-PS4TM/dp/B07FDXSW3N
last time we saw good collector's edition consoles is with some of the 3DSs https://kotaku.com/nintendos-snes-themed-3ds-is-just-beautiful-1762744336
@ClassSonicSatAm Dude that spiderman limited edition is awesome! Simple is sometimes better
@ClassSonicSatAm
At least the entire console and the controller are unique.
When I look at the Spidey PS4, I really see a special edition...
But now to be fair, Nintendo is really not good with collector's home consoles.
The gamecubes were basic, the Wiis the same, the WiiUs the same and now the Switch are following the same pattern too...
Another GREAT video from the man with the tired catchphrase. Even more tired than our beloved Tory Government I might add.
@Cobalt A PS4 in red = unique by your logic?
When I want a unique console I want more then just a color swap and a basic logo
as for the Controller it has nothing to do with Spiderman other then being "red" and white buttons...
Gamecude did have this for it's collector's edition https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panasonic_Q a Cude made out metal and extra features a normal GameCube lacked.
With the Wiis and Wii Us yeah there were simple they were aimed for causal gamers and families afterall bur the red Mario 25th anniversary editions did have Donkey Kong with the missing pie level was neat for retro gamers didn't cost much more either at the time
But the N64 era did that have that awesome Pikachu Limited Edition which I will admit is alot better then this If I could I would I would swapped my PS1 for that N64 back then https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kn7aPnmZXNE
@MasterJay It's just a red PS4 with a simple spider logo on the side... reminds alot of the DIY console mods you would get "free" with gaming mags
@ClassSonicSatAm Still looks nice 😉
I'm not getting it. Why the eff is Sony capable of putting a physical game (Spider Man) in their Special Editions and Nintendon't? O_o
Nothing special about this release if you ask me.... you're good with regular switch as well. Just get some stickers and voila you've got your own pokemon switch
Honestly, those Switch special bundles are a big let down. Usually I would be like "ooh, if I was buying the Switch now, I would buy THAT". And I don't get that with these bundles.
Sure, the Joy-Cons are ok. But the dock is really meh. Just googling "3DS special editions" makes me wonder why Nintendo would release such lame bundles, when they obviously know how to do beautiful stuff.
It looks kinda nice but a couple of decals and a yellow and brown joycon are not the kind of thing that will convince me to buy a second Switch. Nintendo needs to come up with some kind of redesign or something truly special where the entire console looks special to convince me to buy another one.
@pinta_vodki Yeah I mean just take a look at the special edition 2/3DS consoles and then look at this and the Diablo Switch. These just come off as a minimalist job that doesn't really do much to give it a special look, compared to even special edition PS4 and Xbox One consoles these just don't do anything to make me say "oh wow I want that."
@ClassSonicSatAm
The Q is a Panasonic machine, do not expect Nintendo to make a kind of collector of that type.
@ClassSonicSatAm I disagree. Some of the Xbox limited editions look fantastic.
@Lando_ because it costs money. Blu Rays are cheap to produce, they don't lose that much money on it.
@In_Ex_Fan But it costs the same as if they'd have put a physical version into the package. Nintendo being greedy again.
@Lando_ first of all: making a digital version less expensive is unfair do physical adopters. It's more expensive for Nintendo to put a physical copy in the bundle. We all know that those cartridges are stupendously expensive. They actually get more money out of it digitally. And regarding being greedy: Every company is. They exist to make money. Every. Single. One.
@In_Ex_Fan Okay. Is there really such a huge difference in price between Switch cartridges and Blu-rays?
Yeah, that's right though. It's all about the money, for every company.
@Lando_ Oh yeah, there is. That's the reason why so many 3rd parties opt to cheap out on Switch and force a download on players. Compared to that printing an Blu Ray just costs a bit of change.
@In_Ex_Fan
Could you explain me why the Windwaker collector's edition Wii U console had a code for the game ?
Could you explain me why the MarioKart 8 collector's edition Wii U console had a code for the game ?
Could you explain me why Mario Vs Donkey on Wii U had a code inside a boxed game ?
Could you explain me why StarFox Guard on Wii U had a code inside a boxed game ?
etc...
It isn't a question of cartridge cost (the Wii U use discs). The truth is that Nintendo is becoming more and more greedy with the time.
Look the price of the accessories on Switch : 50€ for a pokéball, 90€ for a dock etc...
Even the collector's edition like Bayonetta 1 + 2.

On the Wii U you get the 2 games on a beautiful luxury box and on the Switch you get only Bayonetta 2 on cart and Bayonetta 1 is a DL code. What is worse, the package is really cheap too on the Switch compare to the Wii U version...
@Cobalt Easy. The answer to all is: It's still cheaper than including a disc. They're just optimizing profits. It's actually pretty smart from a business standpoint.
They should have made the color of the dock and the switch itself white or maybe off-white. I mean it is most likely children who are getting this edition. It should look more colorful and represent the world of the game.
@Razer Let down? Game is amazing! I never played Pokémon Yellow and now I can play it in HD glory.
People are complaining about the difficulty, but when have the regular trainer battles ever been difficult? Since you always reach them overleveled, unless you stop catching too many pokemon's and/or keep swapping them out to keep the level down.
The game is amazing and I actually reached the Second Gym on-level and it was actually a bit challenging and fun. Caught me a bit off-guard, since Gyms have been pretty much face roll in the last main-games too, including the Pokémon League battles. So it was actually fun. About to start on the 3rd Gym now, which I am on-level for it too now, since I keep switching my Pokémon around a bit.
So far I am very impressed with the quality of the game, especially since everyone was so negative about it for so long, tempering my expectations.
@ThomasS "Yo i own the Spider-Man PS4Pro and let me tell you it’s absolutely gorgeous.
But for real, are we comparing that console with the ‘just put two stickers on the dock and be done with it’ Special edition Switch?!?
It’s okay to be a fanboy on a Nintendo fansite, but... you can’t possibly tell me this Switch edition is anything special compared to what the competition delivers!"
A bit hypocritical isn't it? the Spiderman PS4 console is just red and has a spider logo sticker on it's side.... and the controller is just red with white buttons... hardly screams Spiderman
This Console skin kit you can buy for $39.99 has alot more effort put into it. https://www.skinit.com/device-skins/gaming-skins/sony/ps4-console-controller-bundle/spider-man-ps4-console-and-controller-bundle-skin
Nintendo and Sony are just as bad here so don't give me that fanboy rubbish to be honest seems to alot of Sony fans on here
or is it cus Sony used "red Paint" then Black that really makes the Spiderman PS4 look gorgeous to you?
@In_Ex_Fan Never said Xbox didn't have good limited editions, mainly in the 360 and original era.
Now this is what I call a good looking limited edition

@BladedKnight That's a pretty stupid feature, having it sing a theme, that's what a freaking McDonald's toy would have.
If there going to make a PS4 Spiderman theme then at least do more then sticking a sticker on the console and painting it red...
Heck if you just got the Controller with out the Console...you would think it's just a white and red controller, not a spiderman one.
These kits make the PS4 more Spiderman theme https://www.skinit.com/device-skins/gaming-skins/sony/ps4-console-controller-bundle/spider-man-ps4-console-and-controller-bundle-skin and it's less then $40
@BladedKnight Your quite a simple person aren't you?
Here's a PS4 painted red, a spider sticker on the side of the console.
oh and here's a controller we painted red and added bits of white.. we ran out of spider stickers for that...
@BladedKnight "okay whatever kid" Oh naming calling that's very mature.
I bet I'm older then you judging by your comments.
@BladedKnight I never said I hated Spiderman PS4 nor it's limited edition of the console.
All I'm saying is, it's just as bad as the Pokemon Switch console... if not more so, they could of at least put something spider-man related on it's controller.
But again.. "Oh it's Red? then it's Awesome! " yeah you are a simple person.
@IHateTombs Eh? sorry was my last comment too complex for you?
go back your special RED ps4. you strange little boy... you have my pity.
