Nintendo has kept the gifts coming in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on Switch, and the latest is now available via the system's News tab.
It's all about levelling up armour, which is a pretty important part of the game when it comes to equipping yourself for the tougher challenges. To do this you naturally release and then chat to Great Fairies, trading inventory for better kit - plus it's a chance for some awkward flirting.
If you load the game through the news post you'll get three Yellow Chuchu Jellies and three Electric Keese Wings, which isn't too bad.
Don't forget that this week also brings the launch of the Champions amiibo and a Xenoblade Chronicles 2 crossover outfit and quest.

insert "ripping off Wii U owners" in 3....2.....1.....
0... Man, and Wii U owners or once more totally ripped off! It's a SCANDAL!
(...that they can't view the tip outside NL and are forced to play the game for a couple of minutes to get said resources...)
Why people do not buy the Switch instead of complaining about Wii U lack of 'gifts'?
All these items are easily obtainable by normal play-sessions in either version. The Xenoblade clothes however, I guess those are exclusive to the Switch version. As long as its only clothes, it isn't that bad though.
On a sidenote: Lol, Aonuma's dream-girls!!
Do these free gifts only work in normal mode? or can you load them up in Master Mode?
I actually could have used those electric wings little while back. Oh, well.
I saw this, but honestly, unless you really kept yourself in the dark and only recently got this game - how did you not know you could upgrade your armor? The game doesn't exactly keep it a big secret.
This fairy (🐷+🦋) needs to go on a diet. She ate all the frogs in the pond.
These gifts are 100 times better than mynintendo. Although I have never used these free gifts as I've finished the game at least you don't need to spend your platinum or gold coins on them.
@setezerocinco: "Let them eat cake"
Perhaps, some WiiU owners are not happy with the Switch and don't want to buy a console for a WiiU game they already have??
@Chandlero makes sense, but is like if they launched, let's say Crash Bandicoot for PS4, used new features for the game on the PS4 and the PS2 owners complained that their version of the game does not contain the new features. They need to accept that BotW was launched for the Wii U as a tribute or something. The console is dead and period.
@setezerocinco: What are these "new" features for Switch you are talking about?
My WiiU is very much alive and I am perfectly playing BotW.
Eh. Doesn't help those who are way ahead. This only helps the beginners...
Star fragments please
@Chandlero my DS is also alive and I play Zelda on it, I do not complain that it does not have the features presented into 3DS.
@setezerocinco: Which DS-Zelda got new features on the 3DS?
@Chandlero I know where you are going and I am not in the mood. You got the point: you cannot complain that an old console does not have things that a newer one has, does not matter if you still play on the console...
@setezerocinco: Of course, I can complain about a company's actions regarding their customers.
@Chandlero ok, better example. I still have my N64 and OoT. The 3DS has an OoT as well with 3D effect. Why Nintendo did not add this effect to my perfect function OoT on the N64?
@setezerocinco: Your N64 does not have an internet connection. And by the way: It is not the same game.
@Chandlero your Wii U does not have the developers attention. And by the way, except for the graphics, they are the same game (same history, same mechanics and same end), plus the internet connection, or lack of, is not relevant for the 3D effect.
So uh... you get 3 yellow chuchu jellies and 3 yellow keeze wings? Wow.
Article is confusing. You release and chat to fairies? What?
Lame, should at least be a harder to get item.
How about teaching players how they can max out the fairies in their inventory to eleven? That would have been a real tip here at the Great Fairy Fountains. lol
I have 250+ hours of play time of this game on my Wii U. I don't really care much about thesw free gifts.
@ThomasBW84 Uhm, there's a lot more happening than just 'flirting'. It's pretty obvious by Link's level of exhaustion after the fairy is done with him.
BotW is probably the most sexually explicit Zelda game ever. ^^
The new amiibo are beautiful but their functionality in-game is disappointing. New helmets. Score.
@Nincompoop There is slim girls everywhere on the market. A stereotype look. I personnally think this fairy is beautiful. The most beautiful fairy in all Zelda serie. I cant believe in 2017 there is people like you. Be mature please.
Lets see Wii U owners really complain once they give out star fragments. Lol! Hey, I bought my Switch and Zelda with income taxes and still play my Wii U. Just gotta budget and prepare. I knew what was gonna happen if I didn’t upgrade. Things like Miiverse ending and this. I do wanna get some Wii Shop Channel games before they close though.
If I ever get the chance to ask Aounuma or Miyamoto a question, it's going to be "In The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild, what does the Great Fairy do with Link when he upgrades his armor to level 4?"
All so they can publicly confirm it.
I agree with the guy above me, this has to be the most sexually explicit Zelda game to date. No contest.
Great game
I like the E X T R A T H I C C faires
They also should have saved this for valentine's day
Just started Breath of the Wild last week really enjoy these free items. Still waiting on a Twilight Tunic from my amiibo settled for the cap today after 1 hour of loading an old save file.
I'm making slow progress on BotW so any help is welcome.
@0muros Since you like them so much, more for you: 🐖🐖🐖🐖🐖🐖🐖🐖🐖🐖🐽🐽🐽🐽🐽 😁😁😁
