Who doesn't love a good movie tie-in game, especially when it involves LEGO? Just in time for the movie you'll be able to pick up The LEGO Ninjago Movie Video Game on 22nd September in North America (6th October in Europe) to enjoy on your Nintendo Switch. Developed by TT Games, this actually looks like it could be a lot of fun.
Here's the game bio to get you up to speed:
Find your inner ninja with the all-new LEGO Ninjago Movie Video Game! Play as your favorite ninjas, Lloyd, Jay, Kai, Cole, Zane, Nya and Master Wu to defend their home island of Ninjago from the evil Lord Garmadon and his Shark Army. Master the art of Ninjagility by wall-running, high-jumping and battling the foes of Ninjago to rank up and upgrade the ninja’s combat skills. Only in the LEGO Ninjago Movie Video Game will you experience the film across 8 action packed locations each with its own unique Challenge Dojo. And with the Battle Maps, play against friends and family in competitions for up to four players!

Yay
Ahhh Lego third party support that never fails. And games that I have always enjoyed at that.
So there's no LEGO Batman movie game, but there will be one for the LEGO Ninjago one?
I guess I'll take it... Still a bit disappointed but oh well. At least this is another LEGO Movie spin off
You can always rely on LEGO games to turn up everywhere. And they're never truly terrible, a lot of them are great.
My wallet cant take this pressure but im excited for the games on switch!!!!!!
Oooow.... kay.
It's kinda hard to say.
I was quite interested with earlier Ninjago series, but not watching them anymore for latest seasons. Oh... Don't forget with Six Pack of Kai and Cole.
I need to deliberate first...
Really!? A movie based game let me pre order now!
I will buy it but I will buy it for ps4, I was really in a dillema wether to continue my lego game collection on playstation or to buy the new games for switch but the fact that I have every single Tt lego game spread across my ps2, ps3 and ps4, and also have all 3 exclusive portable games om vita plus some double dips on vita I won't be buying them on switch, atleast not day one, maybe with a discount :/
@darkswabber Is there some connection between them or some additional logic to your decision? I see no logic there. Sounds like you value portable gaming due to having LEGO games on Vita, and that you might buy this twice. Once to trap it on a home-based console because... that's how you've done it in the past is the best I can gather. You own a Switch which breaks this barrier, a game franchise you love is coming to it, and ... you want to trap it on a home console. I really don't follow.
@darkswabber
I would better buy the Switch version.
Easy to carry, both portable and home console. No need to double dip.
@Anti-Matter From what I've seen the movie doesn't look that interesting but maybe that's coming from the fact that I'm a Ninjago fan and the movie is non-canon. =p
My boys will love this!
@Nintendoyle same here one happy boy
Even if it is just a Lego game based on a Lego movie based on Lego toys it's still nice to see Switch getting a next (current) gen game. I always knew Switch could get PS3 and Xbox 360 games but getting games that are only this gen - PS4, X1 and PC - can only be considered a good thing. PS4 and X1 must have sold well enough for a game like this to be skipping PS3 and Xbox360. Skipping Wii U sadly goes without saying.
@aaronsullivan I think every game that releases on both PS4 and Switch I'll be thinking about which system to buy it on. Since my kids will mostly be using it as a handheld - once Pokemon releases I'll never see it again - games for the whole family may still be on PS4. Plus I have 3 PS4 controllers. Obviously Nintendo exclusives like Mario will be on Switch but 3rd party stuff may make more sense to buy them on PS4 that way I or 1 of my kids can play them on the TV while the other kid is playing handheld on the Switch. My kids constantly play together now, 1 on the Gamepad, the other on the PS4 or PS3 or Xbox on the TV. If I only started buying games on the Switch we'd lose that ability to play 2 games at once. Switch will really be a "first party" handheld system for us. Though I'll be playing it on the TV while my kids are sleeping or watching.
This and Marvel Super Heroes 2 releasing around the same time. I used to love the Lego games, but now they're just broken, buggy messes. Then Warner Bros. move onto another one without even patching the old one. Too many Lego games in too little time.
Hopefully it'll hold at least 30fps then i "might" buy it.
I'm a big Ninjago fan, and this looks like it will actually be the first good Ninjago game! 😆
@aaronsullivan the logic is that it keeps my collection 100% complete on a specific brand of consoles.
It might have made more sense if I mentioned I'm autistic and that I collect game boxes, for me it feels wrong if I have every game in a collection on a certain platform except for a few titles. It also doesn't help that the day before lego marvel 2 was announced I bought my last missing lego game on a playstation platform. I indeed value portable gaming a lot, that made the decision harder.
@anti-matter Double dipping is no problem for me if the game is enjoyable enough, although I never double dip at full price.
But there are still a few months between now and the release so I might change it to switch, although the chance is slim.
@darkswabber
Oh...
I understand your idealism.
Btw, do you have ADHD Syndrome or something like that (Guilty feeling for not completing something ) ?
Sorry for asking too much.
@anti-matter ADHD, both in concentration and in acting. 2 forms of autism (PDD-NOS and MCDD). Tourette syndrom. Dyslexia. Schizophrenia. Eating disorder. Anxiety disorder and way to many phobia's to keep count. Also my mental age is far below my actual age, but my IQ is far above the average. I'm an adult but it doesn't always feel that way
It's definitily not an easy life.
Luckily I'm not your standard salty autistic person commenting on stuff.
The questions are not a problem, I will gladly answer them.
Is it coming to Wii U? Sorry - being lazy not to check myself.
Just got a Wii U for my 5 year old and he would love it!!
No way I'm getting him a Switch as he has a very 'active' 2 year old brother too. Maybe if they made an impenetrable plastic box to lock down the console in docked mode!
@darkswabber
I'm an endogenous depressive, and I really struggle. I simply cannot imagine how you manage such an array of conditions like that... that is amazing. Stay strong out there.
@Ooyah thank you! You stay strong too!
I will get this... eventually. Never gotten into Ninjago or anything, but I love LEGO games.
@darkswabber
Dyslexia ?
But you could type the comment.
Impressive.
Btw, Happy collecting LEGO games.
Zzzzzzzzzz
Upgrading combat skills? I get the feeling this lego game will be a bit different from others.
I might get this one. Loved lego games back in the day but eventually got bored with them. This Ninjago one might get me back into them again.
I think LEGO needs to do a Movies themed set and movie. So that TT Games could release a game based on a movie based on a game about movies.
@rjejr Multiple Switches solve all the problems!
@darkswabber That explains it! New console generations and competition probably aren't your favorite thing, I gather.
@aaronsullivan I'm holding out for 1 Switch, 1 SwitchPocket and 1 SwitchTV.
Happy 4 day weekend.
@rjejr Good plan if Nintendo cooperates! Enjoy the weekend.
