Nintendo and its closest partners have gradually become more accustomed to the busy world of social media. Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and various others have been picked up by Nintendo in various regions, and are often used to reveal release dates, special editions and all manner of announcements.
HAL Laboratory, which is independent of but very closely affiliated with Nintendo, has finally joined the bold world of Twitter. It is posting in Japanese, naturally, with its first tweets saying hello while admitting that it won't be responding directly to follower's messages, and also pointing to an article on its exploits at the recent Tokyo Game Show.
The studio's most recent titles have been Kirby and the Rainbow Curse on Wii U, while on 3DS it released BOXBOY! and has developed upcoming Japanese release Picross 3D 2.
In the case of Twitter it's better late than never!

Huh. Alright then. I suppose I'll follow em' even though I don't understand anything in japanese letters.
No more Nintendo Directs confirmed?
Starting off with "Please understand" in their first tweet to honour Iwata, how thoughtful.
I'm still not interested in twitter but hopefully a few surprises will be announced by HAL.
I don't understand why Hal never paid any tribute to Satoru Iwata. He saved Hal from bankruptcy after all.
Just let me know when they have anything interesting to say...
No translations provided for the people who aren't as fluent in the language of Nintendo?
@ShanaUnite Which language of Nintendo? Hylian? Yoshi? Saturnese? WHAT IS IT!? Oh, you're talking about Japanese. Yeah, that is a bit irritating.
@DarthNocturnal I think he's talking about them saying they wouldn't be responding "Directly" to followers' messages.
@ShanaUnite A decent summary is given is the article, but more specifically Tweet 1 would translate relatively accurately to:
"HAL Laboratory's official Twitter account has launched. From today onwards, company notices and information about website updates etc. will be reported here.
Also, (please) note that we will not be dealing with individual inquiries. Please understand."
Tweet 2 would be:
"In the website's diary, an article from a game programmer titled "Observations from Tokyo Game Show 2015" has been published. hallab.co.jp/diary"
"The studio's most recent titles have been Kirby and the Rainbow Curse on Wii U." Dude, just move to America.
Wanna know something sad? I never really knew what Hal's Logo was until this article and I say the blown up logo image. ha ha
I'M SO EXCITED
Oh thank goodness, for some reason I was under some assumption that Konami bought Hal recently and since Konami is in a weird state at the moment I figured Hal was lost. I really gotta stop believing everything that YouTube broadcasters tell me.
I think it was Ant Dude...
edit I'm an idiot, it was Hudson Soft that was bought and dissolved by Konami. My bad... Still, it sucks.
Hmm seriously just joined ?
@DarthNocturnal No, I read it along w/ - Wii U not getting a price drop its first year, Nintendo not publishing games on smart devices, SSB not working on DLC, Zelda U releasing 2015, Star Fox Zero releasing Nov 20 2015. Shall I continue?
@Maxz Thank you kind sir.
