Activision is releasing the full track list for its forthcoming Guitar Hero Live in batches, and it has just announced the second helping of songs. While some fans expressed disappointment at the first drop, this week's offering should get classic rock fans more excited as it includes Pantera, Rage Against the Machine and classic British heavy metal act Judas Priest. All we need now is Spinal Tap, and we'll be in heaven.
Here's the full list for this week:
- Judas Priest - "Breaking the Law"
- Pantera - "Cowboys From Hell"
- Alter Bridge - "Cry of Achilles"
- Rage Against the Machine - "Guerrilla Radio"
- Red Hot Chili Peppers - "Higher Ground"
- Sleigh Bells - "Bitter Rivals"
- System of a Down - "Chop Suey!"
- Black Veil Brides - "In The End"
- The Pretty Reckless - "Going to Hell"
- Broken Bells - "Leave it Alone"
- Alt-J - "Left Hand Free"
Activision is launching more songs every Tuesday - what songs are you hoping for personally? Let us know by posting a comment.

The 80s/90s called, they want their clothing back! Anyways, I hope the game is a little more realistic than previous installments.
@ekreig That isn't even the complete list of announced songs. There's more such as Skrillex's Bangarang.
Gosh, it's weird looking at how young Halford and the boys look there. 2/5 of those guys aren't even in the band anymore. Saw them live a couple years ago and they're quite... well-traveled. Still put on a hell of show though!
Too bad Guitar Hero was always the worse game.
@CaviarMeths - British Steel tour? I saw it about 3 years ago for my birthday.
Thats a much better list than the last one.
This announcement goes some way towards improving my hopes for this game but, on balance, the overall track list is still mostly poor in my opinion. It lacks a lot of what made the older GH games great.
@rjejr Nah, it was the Epitaph tour. Almost four years ago, I guess. They didn't come anywhere near me, so my brother and I had to fly out to see them.
"HIgher Ground" is a great pick. That would be a great song for all parts (guitar, vocals, etc.), but it looks like this Guitar Hero is going guitar only.
If they continue to include even more rock and metal bands from the 70's-90's,I'll consider getting this game.Not holding my breath though
I could do with more Pantera and some Kyuss.
@rjejr
Judas Priest is one of the greatest bands ever formed. I still find it amusing that so much of the "metal image" (clad in leather with spikes and studs) came from Halford shopping for gay fashions in the 70's, and just liked the look of the leather. He found the gay leather he wanted, looked like a badass, and inspired an entire genre of music to look more badass.
Hard to believe this is the same band:
And K.K. Downing retired to play golf.
Sleigh Bells?!? That's my favorite band to come out in recent years. Surprised to see them here though.
Pantera and Rage Against the Machine are considered classic rock now?
I woke up in a very unpleasant future.
@CaviarMeths - Holy cow, it was 6 years ago that I saw them, not 3. Man, time really is flying by, somebody make it stop!! 6 years ago, I just don't see how that's right.
The official first setlist was revealed yesterday. It's not a bad playlist. I am not a fan of repeat songs though, which this game is definitely going to have a few of.
@Quorthon
Gotta watch those Old Grey Whistle test videos... LOL!
Gotta love all the Judas Priest support here. I met them on their Demolition Tour when I turned 17. Later on I designed Tim RIPPER Owens' Beyond Fear album cover. Man, I just really wished they picked something other than Breaking The Law. Great song but, I wanna see some kids get carpal tunnel and throw their toy guitars through the TV! LOL!
@Quorthon - Yeah, they'd probably prefer that picture not making the rounds.
And leather fashion only becomes bad@ss when you're wearing it while riding a motorcycle onto the stage during a live concert.
I drew (permanent makers) their logo on my bedroom wall in the early 80's while my best friend was the lead singer for an AC/DC cover band. That's him, not me.
@Grumblevolcano I'd like to know how you play Bangarang on a guitar. It's a very odd inclusion.
Awesome to see the Judas Priest photo here on a video game site. I've been catching them multiple times per tour ever since I got into them. Amazing band to see live.
2 songs there are from the very first Guitar Hero game back on PS2.
Higher Ground - RHCP and Cowboys from Hell - Pantera.
At least they are most likely going to be master tracks this time round and not covers.
This batch is much better than the last batch I saw which was the batch with Ed Sheeran in it. Not sure if that is actually the batch released before this one though or I've missed one somewhere on this site.
@rjejr
I'm sure your parents were thrilled by that sweet art.
The killers, give us some Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Janes Addiction. I'm loving Systems of the Down is Awesome. Dido on the Chili Peppers. I'm getting this.
JUDAS PRIEST! Awesome.
Not getting it though, I can play it one real a guitar.
Know how you make a game better? You add Judas f'n Priest.
@Quorthon - My parents would have let me color the entire house if I stopped hanging out w/ the bald guy
@Quorthon I do loves me some Judas Priest.
