One of the major reveals during the Nintendo Direct broadcasts - even if it was subtle in the North American video - was a demo distribution for Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. Like previous examples - most memorably Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS - it consists of emails to Club Nintendo members with four codes in each; the theory is one for the member and three for friends.

Codes started flying out in Europe right away, but it's taken longer to arrive in North America. A number of the Nintendo Life community have now been in touch to confirm that they've received emails with the demo, with the following key points:

  • There are four codes, as there were in Europe
  • There is no time or play limit
  • The demo includes tutorial-style stages to learn weapons, while local and online multiplayer is available
