Corpse Party (Switch eShop)

Corpse Party is also a Munchlax favourite.

The remake of a cult classic RPG Maker horror, which Nintendo Life reviewed the 3DS port of years ago, this new version redoes the artwork and (Japanese only) voice acting, whilst including all the extra chapters written for various rereleases in one place, making this what many would consider the definitive way to play the game.

Hogwarts Legacy (Switch)

Tobias has had a great time with Avalanche Software's Hogwarts Legacy.

Fun open-world gameplay, the Hogwarts castle is really nice and fun to explore, and the story is decent. I really liked the taking care of animals gameplay and trying to collect alternate colored animals was a fun challenge.

Moonless Moon (Switch eShop)

VN Moonless Moon is a real page-turner, according to Bluelink45.

It's a visual novel, and the game is genuinely beautiful and just oozes beauty and calm in every inch. The soundtrack, the story, the characters, and the writing all feel like a nice, warm chair. The included music videos and their corresponding songs also just feel so nice and cozy. It's only around 1-2 hours, but it's just a great experience all around.

NeverAwake (Switch eShop)

Nightmarish shmup NeverAwake got two recommendations from the NL massive:

NeverAwake is a shoot-em-up with twin-stick controls set in the dreams of a little girl. The action is intense and difficult, as you'd expect from a great shoot-em-up, but what sets the game apart is the beautiful, disturbing visuals.
timtimtim

It's a really responsive and tight game, it's tough but not infuriatingly so with the unique mechanic that the game's level structure is not about reaching a "end" but collecting the required souls per each level. really addictive.

The Hokkaido Serial Murder Case: The Okhotsk Disappearance ~Memories in Ice, Tearful Figurine~ (Switch eShop)

FX29 didn't send any commentary, but was keen to highlight The Hokkaido Serial Murder Case: Ridiculous Title You'll Never Remember In Its Entirety ∼Curly Whatsits∼ which launched with zero fanfare and slipped out under most people's radars in September.

This is a remake of an old-school graphic adventure from 1984 made by Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii. A curio worth checking out if you're a fan of his work.

Satryn DX (Switch eShop)

edgeforth64 also wanted to give Satryn DX a shoutout.

A nice little arcade throwback. play as a little spaceman saving his friends in a procgen bullethell twin stick shooter. the game is really colorful and neat, excellent as a pick up and play option if you got a spare 15 minutes.

UFO: Unidentified Falling Objects (Switch eShop)

edgeforth64 is also into puzzlers and recommends UFO: Unidentified Falling Objects, "a bullet-hell falling match 3 puzzler."

Play as an astronaut exploring different puzzle worlds. after reaching specific achievements your rewarded with new items changing up your mechanics, mix and match and find your favourite loadout for this tricky puzzler.

Dream Tactics (Switch eShop)

Dream Tactics is "a cute and simple-looking tactical RPG/deckbuilder hybrid" that's up edgeforth64's street.

It may look simple but there is a lot of ways to go about developing your crew and synergizing their abilities. there's also a lot of great tunes along the way, it's bright and cozy, have a go at it it's a lot of fun!

Gun Rounds (Switch eShop)

edgeforth64 is back once more with props for Gun Rounds.

A deckbuilding turn-based RPG roguelite. the game is all about managing your bullets(mana points) each turn but you can also recharge those points by expertly blocking the enemy attacks but be aware there are quite a few different enemy attack patterns to be aware of.

Touhou Luna Nights (Switch eShop)

TheLaysOriginal went for another Touhou title, Touhou Luna Nights, which they describe as a linear, sidescrolling Metroidvania "kinda like Metroid 2."

Beautifully animated pixel art with a SOTN style presentation, tight combat and controls, and the music is a banger. Easily my favorite indie troid, also it's touhou so that's a bonus if your into it.

Bargain Hunter (Switch eShop)

Alpha008 came across Bargain Hunter and reckons it's a real bobby dazzler. If you like that sort of thing.

Basically it’s a playable version of the British TV show Bargain Hunt. It’s very simple, you go around buying things in second-hand shops and garage sales, and try to sell them at auction for profit. It’s really quite simple, and will probably only appeal to people who enjoyed Bargain Hunt (like myself). If Bargain Hunt was up your alley, give this game a look.

Cash Cow DX (Switch eShop)

Nathan Munker suggested Cash Cow DX, a retro-styled platformer heavy on the chiptune.

It’s an excellent throwback to early 80’s arcade games that were developed by Nintendo and Namco.

Transiruby (Switch eShop)

cmbaum wrote in to highlight Skipmore's Transiruby.

Somehow the whole world seemed to overlook Transiruby, Skipmore’s excellent follow-up to the Fairune Collection and Kamiko. This is a meatier offering and is a straight Metroidvania in the art and mechanical style of Fairune. If you liked any of the aforementioned titles and/or are looking for a solid just-tough-enough Metroidvania, this is a must-play.

Evoland Legendary Edition (Switch eShop)

JBone wrote in to recommend Shiro Games' Evoland Legendary Edition which compiles Evoland and Evoland 2, "two RPGs that ostensibly track the evolution of gaming."

The original is a fun, breezy game that feels more like a proof of concept, but the sequel is a longer, far more polished experience with a stronger narrative. While largely a top-down Zelda-esque adventure, it constantly changes genre at key points, playing at various points as a JRPG, a shmup, a beat 'em up, a tactical RPG, a rhythm game, and more. These sections might not stand up for a full game, but the variety keeps it fresh throughout.
