There are a lot of interesting Easter Eggs, references, and design details in Pokémon Legends: Arceus that we think deserve recognition...

Cool Details

The Lake theme is everywhere

Maybe this is just us, but we can't help but hear Diamond and Pearl's gorgeous "Lake Theme" — the one that you hear when chasing down the Lake Guardians — in a lot of Pokémon Legends: Arceus. It would make sense, too, because PLA is a sort-of prequel to Diamond and Pearl! Just listen to this:

...And compare it to this:

There's a Galarian Weezing reference in Jubilife Village

The chimneys are shaped like the Galar form of Weezing. What does it mean? Is it a neat reference to the Meiji era (which is when PLA is set) being analogous to England Galar's Industrial Revolution? Who knows! Get your lore bibles out, folks! It's time to start speculatin'.

There's a hint at your character's origin in their clothing

Your character — Rei, Akari, or whatever name you chose — washes up on a beach after falling out of a space-time rift. So, they came from the future, but which future, exactly? Just take a look at their modern clothing: Akari's T-shirt is a reference to one found in Pokémon Sun and Moon, while Rei's is from Pokémon X and Y. This could tell us where they come from: Alola and Kalos!

Irida's shoes are Poké Balls

Does this mean that the eventual redesign of Poké Balls was, for some reason, based on the shoes of some random lass? Maybe. Is it important? Probably... not. It's still cool, though.

If you're wondering why Ursaluna looks perpetually confused, it's because his eyebrows are supposed to look like two clouds in front of the moon!

If your Pokémon can't swim, fly, or hover, they get a little boat when you chuck them into water. Were you hoping they'd drown? You monster.

The starters you don't pick live in Professor Laventon's room

Rowlet lives in a tree, Cyndaquil lives in a fireplace, and Oshawott lives in a tiny dunk tank, which seems like a much worse deal than the other two get.

If you give someone a shiny or alpha Pokémon as part of a sidequest, they'll appear that way in the world

You'll even sometimes get unique dialogue, with the person acknowledging the rarity of the Pokémon you've given them!

You'll catch a cold dressed like that in the rain!

Your character takes their shoes off indoors

It is traditional in Japan to take off your shoes at the entrance, and many houses have a little area to do so. Fun fact: This automatic shoe-taking-off animation also appeared in Yo-Kai Watch!
