There are a lot of interesting Easter Eggs, references, and design details in Pokémon Legends: Arceus that we think deserve recognition...
Cool Details
The Lake theme is everywhere
Maybe this is just us, but we can't help but hear Diamond and Pearl's gorgeous "Lake Theme" — the one that you hear when chasing down the Lake Guardians — in a lot of Pokémon Legends: Arceus. It would make sense, too, because PLA is a sort-of prequel to Diamond and Pearl! Just listen to this:
...And compare it to this:
There's a Galarian Weezing reference in Jubilife Village
The chimneys are shaped like the Galar form of Weezing. What does it mean? Is it a neat reference to the Meiji era (which is when PLA is set) being analogous to England Galar's Industrial Revolution? Who knows! Get your lore bibles out, folks! It's time to start speculatin'.
There's a hint at your character's origin in their clothing
Your character — Rei, Akari, or whatever name you chose — washes up on a beach after falling out of a space-time rift. So, they came from the future, but which future, exactly? Just take a look at their modern clothing: Akari's T-shirt is a reference to one found in Pokémon Sun and Moon, while Rei's is from Pokémon X and Y. This could tell us where they come from: Alola and Kalos!
Irida's shoes are Poké Balls
Does this mean that the eventual redesign of Poké Balls was, for some reason, based on the shoes of some random lass? Maybe. Is it important? Probably... not. It's still cool, though.
Ursaluna's eyebrows are supposed to look like clouds in front of the moon
If you're wondering why Ursaluna looks perpetually confused, it's because his eyebrows are supposed to look like two clouds in front of the moon!
Pokémon that can't swim get a little boat
If your Pokémon can't swim, fly, or hover, they get a little boat when you chuck them into water. Were you hoping they'd drown? You monster.
The starters you don't pick live in Professor Laventon's room
Rowlet lives in a tree, Cyndaquil lives in a fireplace, and Oshawott lives in a tiny dunk tank, which seems like a much worse deal than the other two get.
If you give someone a shiny or alpha Pokémon as part of a sidequest, they'll appear that way in the world
You'll even sometimes get unique dialogue, with the person acknowledging the rarity of the Pokémon you've given them!
Basculegion has a series-first record
Your character will respond to the weather
You'll catch a cold dressed like that in the rain!
Your character takes their shoes off indoors
It is traditional in Japan to take off your shoes at the entrance, and many houses have a little area to do so. Fun fact: This automatic shoe-taking-off animation also appeared in Yo-Kai Watch!
There's a reference to Diamond and Pearl in Floaro Gardens
Our final page is all about the extremely cute things that Pokémon do in Pokémon Legends: Arceus...

"The space-time distortions feature Pokémon from the future"
And also Pokemon from the past: The Gen 4 fossils
It’s all these little details that endears this game to me. Except I miss eevee saying her name all the time. Ah well gives me more reason to play more let’s go.
Why do the mounts look like they've had... an accident when they walk through the mud
You can do what with the large rocks?
Most hidden pokémon hidden move: no HM at all
Surprised to not see mentions of the many, many characters who resemble characters from the originals. Not even just the Sinnoh gym leaders, cowboy hat girl with Kleavor is a clear ancestor of Clay from Black and White!
@neufel The ultimate move of Bidoof
The style in the first screen shot is so adorable! If only all my money wasn't eaten by storage upgrades. -.-
I didn't notice all of these, but when I started playing, the taking off shoes indoors things basically made me fall in love with the game. These little details are just so cute.
Also, I never noticed the big cracked rocks! Thank you for that.
The gyro controls make throwing pokeballs so much more enjoyable. But I'm glad they made it an option, and didn't just force it on everyone by default.
I'm over 30 hours in and just realized I can sprint 😅
I felt bad. Saw a Togpei sleeping, snuck up behind it and pelted it in the head with a heavy ball.
Found another one - the flute sound played when you get on Wyrdeer is the Azure Flute theme from Platinum. It’s also the sound the plays when the Game Freak logo appears in that game.
I'm kinda glad they brought back the old Pikachu and Eevee cries. It was jarring that Pikachu and Eevee were the only pokemon to say their names in game, and I'm personally just not a big fan of the anime, or how all the pokemon say english words for their names.

@SuperCharr I guess it does make sense after all: it's in the past.
@CharlieGirl Absolutely. My main boy for BW2 (or GIRL I should say, still love ya Shelly!) and has a rad as hell Hisuian form as well. Those red accents man.... incredible.
@DomGC True enough, the event item was never distributed due to glitches and version parity. Still an interesting titbit though!
@SuperCharr I don't even consider them outdated, given they sound more animalistic and do a better job at showcasing that pokemon are wild animals than them just stating their name over and over.
I could use a tip.
I can't get my stealth spray on my quick item menu. Is there any way to move things into the quick item menu?
Whaaat? I assumed I had to unlock some sort of steed to smash those rocks!!
Also I'm turning gyro controls on straight away! Thanks Kate!
You can also evolve mid-battle? That's awesome!
Ok no one has said it so I will, Kates trainer looks so cute, with the hair and she even put the glasses on her, I love it!
Just needed to get that off my chest.
Such a refreshing experience. Loving it so far
Your character is so cute! I went for a male avatar as I do usually for pokémon games but sometime wished I've gone for the female one... And your character remind me of this ;_;
The gallarian weezing is on the side where the professor has his lab, which has a big industrial oven in there. So the weezing is likely a design the professor used from his homeland (he uses lots of english phrases in german at least).
So what you're saying is that PLA has a bit of wibbly wobbly timey wimey...schtuff.
don't blink.
This game is so cool, i love the attention like this.
I found that if you stand in front of a Pokémon while in battle, they will move out of the way as to not hurt you. And of course if you jump in right as they're fighting, you will get hurt ha.
@SuperZeldaFun he is a little orb and I cannot change that
