Nintendo Download 14th August (North America)
Drag x Drive! Shantae Advance! TMNT: Tactical Takedown!
The latest Nintendo Download update for North America has arrived, and it's bringing new games galore to the eShop in your region. (We've also got a couple of games that dropped during and after the Indie World but weren't featured on last week's download — oops!) As always, be sure to drop...

I played Brandish for the first time recently.
It's a really cool little dungeon crawler, though the weird perspective shenanigans take some getting used to.
It's actually fairly easygoing as old dungeon-crawlers go.
You can recover health at literally any time, you can save anywhere, your magic never runs out, and MP recovers pretty quickly, and even if your weapon runs out of durability and breaks, you can still attack unarmed. And the game throws so many spare weapons at you anyway. I quite enjoyed it.
This EGGConsole version on Switch, is a bit of a poor option for several reasons. Firstly it's delisted, so bleh. But also, this is an old PC-9801 version that used a mouse, and it is not compatible with the Switch 2 Joy-Con mouse mode. Instead they mapped dragging the cursor around to the sticks, which kinda feels bad to play.
And additionally, it's not in English.
So I would instead recommend the SNES version, if you have access to it. SNES version of Brandish is pretty good, though the controls will take some getting used to, since they had to make the cursor commands work without a mouse, and it's kinda awkwardly implemented.
The other English version was a digital-only release of the PSP remake, Brandish The Dark Revenant. This remake is super cool and feels a lot more modern, but with the Vita store shutting down, I don't think it'll be possible to get for much longer.
Even though the Vita store isn't shut down quite yet, I tried searching "Brandish" on there and didn't find a result, so it's possible it's already been delisted.
...wow, delisted twice already, huh? Brandish can't catch a break.
Anyways. I've become a fan of Brandish. I plan to play the fan translation of Brandish 2 soon.
