Review Goemon's Great Adventure (Nintendo 64)
A spectacular sidescrolling sequel
When it comes to underrepresented genres on the Nintendo 64, the humble 2D platformer is perhaps the most neglected of all. Despite forming a cornerstone of the 16-bit generation, the genre suffered a spectacular loss of popularity as the N64, Sega Saturn and PlayStation ushered in an exciting new revolution in the...

It has been a while since we heard from Konami's Goemon series. In fact, the last proper game he starred in dates back to 2005 during the Nintendo DS generation. Since then, the mystical ninja has resurfaced here and there, and most recently showed up in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as Mii Fighter costume in September. Now,...

This was one of my favorite N64 games. The first one wasn't especially well received if I remember correctly, and this plus the very Japanese look of the game (at a time around when Nintendo was worried about bringing Pokemon to the U.S. because it was too Japanese) prevented a lot of the rental stores from carrying it (at a time when many people wouldn't buy a game without renting it first). I don't think enough people played this game as it deserved as a result.
I miss this game. So. Fricking. Much. <3
Wouldn't mind seeing this game again, along with the other Goemon N64 game.
did not know there was a second one on the n64
