"Clean is better than dirty"
It's MAR10 Day, the annual celebration of all things Super Mario. Nintendo itself is doing all sorts to mark the special occasion, including the introduction of a new Mario-themed Switch console bundle, a healthy dose of discounts from Mario games, and of course, a brand new trailer for the upcoming Super Mario Bros...
Random Careful! It Looks Like There's Another Softlock Super Mario Sunshine Glitch Out There
Only on the Italian version of the game
We are used to finding game glitches at a pretty early phase in our playtime (heck, opening week for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet saw our Twitter feeds flooded with 'em), but this isn't to say that there aren't more out there. One such example has been brought to our attention today and it is, predictably, to...
Random Modder Adds Mario Sunshine's F.L.U.D.D Device Into Super Mario Odyssey
"Power up complete"
Whatever your view is on 2002's Super Mario Sunshine, we reckon most would agree that the Flash Liquidizer Ultra Dousing Device - or "F.L.U.D.D." for short - was an excellent addition to the franchise that made for some truly unique gameplay mechanics. Since then, of course, Mario has been into space, trekked across a vast...
Random Modders Recreate Super Mario Sunshine Stage From Space World 2001
Blast from the past
Cast your minds back to August, 2001 (if you're old enough, that is!), you might remember that Nintendo hosted its last ever Space World event, during which it showed off a brief snippet of Super Mario Sunshine and introduced the world to the joys of cel-shaded Zelda (or 'Celda', if you like). The company was gearing up for the...
News Newly Translated Interviews Reveal "Serious Debate" Over FLUDD In Super Mario Sunshine
"He wanted the GameCube Mario to be something wild"
Shmuplations has translated two interviews from 2002 on the development of the then-upcoming Super Mario Sunshine, and both reveal some rather interesting details about how the game's FLUDD mechanic, and Mario's short-sleeved look, came to be (thanks, Time Extension!). The first of these...
Random Reggie Fils-Aimé Played A Ton Of GTA During The GameCube Era
Wait... that wasn't on GameCube!
Ex-Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aimé is well known for his showmanship and love for Nintendo games, but if a recent interview is anything to by, it seems he may have spent more of his time on the PlayStation 2 during the early 2000s rather than the GameCube. Traitor, right..? Nah, we're kidding...

This week marks the 20th anniversary of the 2002 GameCube classic Super Mario Sunshine. Started out this game and got into the first 2 hours of it. What I saw I loved. This game I think is quite under rated.
I never really got into this game. It takes all the things I dislike about Mario 64 and pushes them to the nth degree.
I love this game! I think I even like it more than Super Mario 64!
Words cannot describe how messed up this game is. FLUDD made Mario feel like he was carrying a rock on his back, and he felt really restricted. The setting of the game was meh, and even Yoshi was messed up (Yoshi DIES in water)! Both SM64 and SMG are far superior games and SMS might be the only actually bad Mario game.
Most underrated game EVA
I'm having problems getting all of the Shine Sprites. But as soon as I finish, I'm done.
I saw Chuggaconroy(on Youtube)do a LP(let's play) of it.
Just bough a mint copy off ebay for $40. I am so exited because the last time i played this was back in 2003. LOVED it.
Finally got around to playing this one. It's actually better than I thought it would be.
8:10 this is a classic but a bit hard for me
so easy to past.i think thier is such thing as a machien as fludd.
My first mario game, i got it back when i was little, i didnt really get it then, actualy it tok me 2 years to pass it all! its still an amaizing, great and fun game.
So underrated.
Apparantly, it's one of the least like Mario games, but I really can't see why. It was released when I was two, but I love it now; one of my favourite games.
Super mario sunshine 2 3ds please or remake
This is by far my favorite Mario adventure. I remember when I first played it, It was and still is AWESOME! Tragically, I can't play it on my Wii U Deluxe...Darn!
i had no problem with the voice acting
Why do so many people hate this game it is so much fun
@Knux have you played it
Please make Super Mario Sunshine 2
o jogo e otimo me lembra o super mario 64 do N64!!!
Playing this again for the first time in years. Hands down, one of the best Mario's made, I just don't get the hate for it. It's Mario but with water, wouldn't have splatoon without SMS. Would love a HD remake and sequel on the NX. With a new, updated gamecube controller of course.
Most underrated Mario game in my opinion, it improves on Super Mario 64 with things like more obvious hints on how to collect each shine and a FAR better camera, and even though Sunshine does have its share of problems, I still think it's not only the best 3D Mario game, but the best Mario game in general.
This game is incredibly under rated in my opinion due to how many countless hours of replay ability this game has. I honestly think that the whole plot of the game and the aspect of FLUDD was really we used.
Release it for the Nintendo Switch!!!
Aw man, this Mario game...could of been equally good with 64, Galaxies and Odyssey, but it had a few flaws didn't it. Blue coin challenge, ugh, no way. Should of been half total if you asked me. XD ^^' Unless if Nintendo considered remaking this game, maybe. Have extra levels, less blue coin hunting (or at least include a radar to search for them) and a longer story with more cutscenes and voice acting. Of course I still enjoyed this GameCube classic, too.
