About The Game
Journey beyond the myth and discover what awaits you at the top of the Yggdrasil Tree!
Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth chronicles the quest of a new adventurer as he or she attempts to reach the crown of the towering Yggdrasil Tree. For it is said that whoever braves the dangers of the dreaded Yggdrasil Labyrinth and reaches the summit will have their greatest wish fulfilled.
Each culture has their own myth – some say great power will be granted, others believe the great mysteries will be solved. Some believe the ultimate techniques can be mastered there, and a number believe the lost treasures can be found at the top of the Yggdrasil Tree’s boughs.
There's a reason why no one has ever reached the top. Dangerous creatures and terrifying FOEs roam the labyrinth on every floor, so prepare to test your mettle with challenging turn-based battles. Form your own party and partner up to unleash devastating attacks.
Personalise your party to work to your advantage! With endless character customisation, adventurers will cast and create their own party from four unique races and 10 different classes to explore the uncharted labyrinth.
By utilising the Touch Screen of the Nintendo 3DS, you will become your own cartographer. Fill your map and mark the locations of treasures, doors, enemies, environmental obstructions, and other important landmarks you find while traversing the many strata of the perilous dungeon.

On the 3rd Stratum and I have to say this is probably my favorite EO title. They have ramped up the difficulty curve and this is not a beginner friendly game but to fans of the series it pulls no punches. I got to the first boss fairly easily but then had my ass handed to me. The stratums are all unique thus far and fun to map out. It is graphically very beautiful. The character customization is top notch, creating hair color, skin color, the color of each eye is great. This gives you a personal connection to each of the characters. I'm going to say this, Rover is one of the best classes to have on your team because they are great support and good attackers. I give this game a 9/10. With the addition of union skills, the greatest character customization I've seen, and gorgeous dungeon design, Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth is a great addition to the 3ds's great library. The only con to this game is that it is not something you can recommend to beginners. To beginners I would recommend the EO Untold games so you can get used to how EO works.
THIS. GAME. RULES.
I love how you can basically tailor your party to fit your fighting style, customize the heck outta your characters, and I love that the difficulty isn't too hard, but it's definitely not easy. I love a challenge.
i bought this on sale a few months ago and I definitely don't regret it.
