@Sylverstone: They should at least make the original end less bulby. I Think the buttons are gonna be a problem on this one though. They should have made some sort of cover for the buttons for when your holding it like a remote.
Sony would've taken a new low with this console war by copying the Wii-mote's design considering they endorse it.
I agree- Sony has done nothing but trash-talk the Wii since launch, and here they are with not only the same technology, but the same frickin' product design.
What did you expect them to come up with? Given the limitations of a single handed controller they woud have to go out of their way to avoid looking like they copied it.

Hold onto those torches and pitchforks for just a moment, guys.

@Mainin: They don't have to go too far out of their way. I could come up with some ideas. I understand what your saying, but when you first see this it strongly resembles the wiimote at first glance. Look at tv remotes. There are different variations and styles. So this could work as a single handed remote and not look so simular. The wiimote is almost like a symbol for the wii wouldn't you think? So making it so similar is not cool. It would be like if nintendo made a wii version that with the overall body design of the PS3. Even if it had more or less buttons, you would probably think PS3. If someone did that, it should be obvious that they're trying to copy them, more than likely hoping that that simularity will help them wirh sales. (i've seen an apl in one system do this at a cvs store. It wasn't exactly the same, but you knew they were trying make it simular enought to the wii to help them sell it.)
They have no legal grounds on which to stop them from making the controller. What do you want Sony to do? Fight Ninty's battles for them? Maybe they can also fund and publish Ninty's games. That would be swell.
