Hackers have shown that its quite possible to edit existing games so imagine what the actual companies could do. New levels, new characters, new power-ups, new modes...
Now that would be DLC done right.
Since the original games weren't designed to have DLC, a way around this I think would be that you would download a modified version of the full game replacing your existing unmodified original download. But of course you could still play the original VC game without any modifications at all if you wished.
Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.
I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!
I don't think companies will want to add DLC to their old games, because therefore, theyre not old anymore. Theyd rather force you to keep playing the old game and give u no option for a new one at all (in other words, they dont want to work on anything new)

It's a nice idea, but like making a film, painting or even a cooked meal, it takes a certain kind of discipline to draw that line and call a game DONE even if improvements could be made. A creator will always see where things can be improved, but with budgetary pressures and rights and size limitations these kinds of updates would essentially amount to complete re-releases or 're-makes' to make them really work and be worthwhile; plus they'd probably have to charge full price all over again, which not a lot of people would go for.
I think it's unlikely, generally speaking, but then if it's small additions to existing programs it could be really cool. Packs of skins, online modes, etc., but still it seems like it'd be hard to add unless the games where already set up to receive those kinds of updates. I don't know, I hate to be such a stick in the mud but I just don't think it could happen. although to actually answer your question: hell yeah, it'd be good! The possiblilites are endless. (I'm just a realist myself)
I almost wholeheartely disagree with this idea. Only necessary if it's to recapture original ideas that didn't make it to the VC releases. For example, the four missing Mario Golf players.
i think it would be rad if nintendo got up on a VC DLC scene for disc releases (like new smash bros brawl maps, new worlds in mario galexy ect ect). the DLC on XBLA is sooo deep and developed (i would love to see the kinda treatment games like fallout 3 get for some of my favorite wii games!). i feel like it can really make the whole experience deeper. it allows for post release feedback and development which in my opinion is really cool (how ever there is a downside, just look at the drama happening with left for dead 2). but to get to the point: it would be cool if they could make dlc for older games, if they could get a majority of the original staff on it. but i don't know how i feel about abunch of people that don't fully understand the particular games universe making new levels and stuff. their is a big chance that it just wouldn't fit in.
I'd like to see a proper SEGA created Hidden Palace in Sonic 2, and the motorbike chase in Streets of Rage 3 (they could also give us the Japanese version translated properly)! That would possible be the coolest DLC ever.
Most NES games I like in their original forms. Super NES games, I wish they gave them their GBA enhancements. I'd really like to see them make an updated version of Super Mario 64, with graphic enhancements and more stars(similar to the DS version). I'd also like to see them make an updated version of Star Fox 64, with enhanced graphics, save features, and the voice cast replaced with that of Star Fox assault.
