Topic: WiiWare sequels to existing Virtual Console games you'd like to see?

I kinda get a kick out of seeing long forgotten series being given brand new games. Obviously, game companies can't always be expected to produce a full size retail game to a series whose last game was twenty years ago or so. I think Wiiware is the best for things like this.

I'd like to see a Adventures of Lolo 4. Modern graphics - 3D environments with multiple levels during a stage, two player co-op and vs. modes (may have to have unique stages for each of these modes) - how about it being set completely in the Kirby universe to give it additional appeal with many recognisable cameos from well known Kirby characters (Lolo and Lala themselves cameoed in early Kirby games as a boss).

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

Kid Icarus 3 and another of Thunder(Gate was 1 and Lords/Winds was 2) game would be good too.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4!

"And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." Matt. 1:21.

Metal Slug 8 would be freaking sweet too! Phantasy Star V, Gunstar Heroes 2, and that never produced Axelay 2 would be nice to have as well.

I prefer lush 2D environments over 3D any day. Depends on the game however. I would LOVE to see a Kirby sequel happen on WW.

I would agree here. It just makes the sprites look great when they're being powered by a 3D system. Makes some actions(esp. magic) look absolutely breath taking. Just look at World of Goo, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, and the Paper Mario series.

I'm afraid a Kid Icarus sequel would completely ignore its heritage and just be a flying game or something of the sort. I would be more interest to see a Kid Icarus remake akin to Metroid Zero Mission where it is somewhere in between being a remake and a sequel. The original was a good concept but is hardly playable at times. The platforming particularly is dreadful.

What I'd like to see in a remake/sequel:
*Slightly redesigned versions of all the original levels with no more than three levels following the same pattern as in the original (vertical level, horizontal level, dungeon level).
*Updated graphics, more like SNES or GBA quality.
*A more friendly difficulty curve, but not childishly so. Kid Icarus should be challenging but playable.
*Upgrades that tie in with Brawl's portrayal of the bow: directional arrows (but difficult to control) and blades (not as strong as arrows).
*Experience points that you can see. I didn't even realize there were any other stats tracked, but apparently there is some value that the game never shows you which determines when certain items appear or something. I forget the exact details, but it was a pretty bad idea, in my opinion.
*Time trial modes where you choose a level and race through it, maybe with optional extra challenges in the level.
*Survival mode where you are in a one-screen area and try to survive without getting hit for as long as possible as those creatures swoop down at you like in those side rooms that pop up occasionally throughout the game.

I would just like to see it get similar treatment that MM9 got, where there is a normal main game with all the features you've come to expect, but a more balanced difficulty (or at least I thought it was), and a lot of fun extras (whether DLC or not) that build on the core game mechanics in different ways. I don't expect this to ever happen, but a man can dream.

Come on, friends,

That would be really cool Adam. When do you get your job at Nintendo?

Not soon enough! I still never got a response to my letter I wrote to Mister Shijeru Mimomo about the job when I was 4, but maybe they are still considering me. I even drew a picture of my new Mario levels, though I forgot to include the code.

i beleive the best example of beautiful sprites on a 3D console is wario land shake it.

On topic: 2.5D excitebike game (for 800 points) would be great. River city ransom 2 (for 1000 points) would be a good start for beat-em-ups on wiiware. Pong with multiple colors for the paddles, ball, and background as well as online play (for 500 points) would be fun for a good while. I'd like to see excitebike the most though.

Haha, does Pong really need online play? It is a pretty simple game. If you don't have a friend in person to play against, would you really notice the difference between an online opponent or an AI opponent when all the other player can do is move the paddle up and down? Seems like a waste of development costs.
I do enjoy Pong though, just thought the idea of online play for such a game was funny.

Excitebike would be damn cool. Would love to see that come to fruition as well.

I'm a huge sonic fan so I'm desperate for Sonic 4. And although STI broke up, I wanna see Comix Zone and The Ooze sequels. Those were awesome games. Hopefully they'll have the same difficulty (Sadistic ). A new Contra game would rule also.

This is a signature.
Link goes here now.
Screw you.

Streets of Rage 4, Shinobi game, Golden Axe 4 Sonic 4, Ristar 2, Alex Kidd in MW2, Neutopia 3, Wonderboy sequel and a 2D Zelda, so quite a lot.

Remember the e-levels from Super Mario Advance 4? They had new enemies, new power ups, veggies, and A-coins. Japan got all of these levels. Unfortunately, the US and Australia got 1/3 of them, and Europe didn't get any at all. Nowadays, its hard to find them in any of the regions. An idea I had is to take all of the e-levels, and make an entirely make a new SMB3 out of it. Like making new SMB3 style maps. Put it on the shop for 800 Wii points, and it will sell like hotcakes.

I'm feeling Kirby's Dreamland 4. That would be great! Would love to see 0 return as 03. 0 was one of the most nightmarish and sadistic characters to grace a Nintendo game in a while.

all i know is that i'm waiting for Sin & Punishment 2! but i would like to see another Mario RPG for the Wii that isn't paper Mario or Mario & Luigi,i mean something along the lines of Super Mario RPG for SNES. I don't think Square Enix would have any problems now since they and Nintendo are back on pretty okay terms

Kid Icarus 3 could make a cool WiiWare game. Ever since SSBB, those horrible, godawful, abysmal God of War wannabe "Adult Icarus" mock-ups, and the way Nintendo has been lately, I have this feeling that whatever they do with Pit, it's going to utterly lack the feel of the originals, create an annoying new fanbase that I'll hate, and of course that nail in the coffin, they might possibly do away with the Eggplant Curse.

Still, I'd like to see a proper Kid Icarus 3 before we get any sort of Wii game. Hopefully it'd be 2D, and preferably it'd be like the Super Kid Icarus that I waited for all those years until the N64 and my hopes for such a thing died. I don't see Nintendo pulling a Mega Man 9, though. ;_;

I don't care if he looks like the damn SSBB Pit in a Wii game, but I'd like a WiiWare game where he's 'Kid' Icarus. They've done a good job leaving Link as a kid, so I don't see why Pit has to be a teen or an adult, or why it must look and play like God of War or Rygar.
