I am extremely frustrated with Wii wrestling games. all seem mediocre at best and way too costly. Of all the titles that are out now and possibly to come shortly are there any recomendations of a good quality wrestling game?

my husband and i thought Smackdown vs. RAW 2009 was pretty good. my husband spent weeks playing it and loved every minute, the storylines weren't bad, and the character creation is pretty freakin' detailed. you can probably pick it up for cheap now that '10 is out.

which games have you played? I know that smackdown vs raw 2008 is a very basic, arcade like wiggle motion control adaptation of the franchise.
but the most recent version smackdown vs raw 2010 and the upcoming version 2011 will be bascially like the xbox 360 or ps3 version, but with wii graphics.
so all the game modes, a decent control scheme, the complete roster, create a wrestler, entrance, finisher and so on.

I would say go with Smackdown vs Raw 2010 since it's the first Wii version that you can use the CC, I just miss the N64 days by far the best wrestling games ever.

Having both a WIi and an Xbox 360 I get the Xbox version of said game. I dont know why but companies like to make inferior versions for the Wii I dont know why that is but it just seems that way.

@Splat I have to agree I only played a few of the wrestling games on N64 at my friends house but yeah they were some of the best, I wish that they would bring them out on VC but thats probably never going to happen since they would have to go through too many avenues to get licensing and such.

If you want a great wrestling game, look up WCW/NWO Revenge for the N64; it's the last wrestling game you'll ever need...

I perfer WWF No Mercy, that said I'm pretty high on Revenge as well the list of good wrestling games on the N64 is crazy.

I'm glad you said exactly what I was thinking.

I clocked hundreds of hours into that game, and wrestling is completely not my thing.

I do still like really good wrestling games, despite the fact you'd never catch me in a million years sitting in front of the TV watching real-life wrestling.

If all that WWE 2011 (or whatever the title is, I don't even know what WWE is, is that like WWF? ) pans out to be really great, be sure to keep us up to date. I wouldn't mind owning another awesome wrestling game. I haven't owned a good one since the one Metroid_Fan mentioned. I had one for GameCube, but I forgot what it was called. Was kind of ugly and not a lot of fun.

This.
Greatest. Wrestling. Game. EVER.
I think I need to get out my N64 this weekend and play some. I wonder what created (edited) wrestlers i still have on the cart.

I'd also like Pro Wrestling on the VC, even though i still have my NES cart.

Didn't play them, but i believe the developers were the same guys as the N64 games.

Wrestlemania X8 and XIX for GameCube are also pretty good wrestling games, but nothing beats Revenge, in my opinion...

@lockelocke: I've played Fight for NY, but that one changed the formula to street fighting instead of wrestling...

I own 1 and 2 for the PS2 and like them both alot, like you said they are over the top but like someone else said they were made by some of the same developers that made some of the best N64 wrestling games.

@ scottier:

If you enjoy the SmackDown vs. Raw series I'd recommend you try SD vs. Raw 2010 for the Wii. I've played SD vs. Raw 09' for the 360(to death) and can tell you that 2010 for the Wii is just as good. Sure it doesn't look as pretty as the 360 version, but other the that you are getting a very complete wrestling game. No corners were cut when they made that one and with all the game modes included(with a few new ones) I strongly recommend you try that version since it can be had for a decent price as 2011 is out(or close to it).

Oh yea, Revenge was by far the best wrestling before the SD vs. Series came out. I remember the first time playing the demo with Stone Cold and thinking that wrestling games couldn't get much better then this.

Yep I cant wait for it. Its suppose to be more like the old WWF arcade wrestling games. I will probably be picking this one up on the Xbox though instead of the Wii.
