Giving us the option to IM for our Wii friends in real time and having the option to see if our Wii friends are online would also be nice. Or am I asking for too much?
I want a sort of Xbox Live online experience, where your notified when a friend comes online.

I'm not really concerned about a Wii update (although Wii no ma would be nice). I'm more concerned with getting a DSi SD menu. It's really sad that I don't have immediate access to 70% of the games/apps i've downloaded. C'mon Nintendo!!!!
there's only one thing nintendo has to do and has to do immediatelly - remove the size limit of DLC. It has to go. with sd cards up to 32 GB each it's time to let go, com' on... imagine the games Wiiware gonna have, huge content from third parties, and just kicking of sony/micro.... what's taking so long to remove this stupid thing. my only real concern.

How are they kicking Sony and MS? Sorry but the Wii only support s 32GB's. MY PS3 is an 80GB model and I'm enjoying the music and photo's on it aswell as some movies on my USB stick that I can put on it. Also I can upgrade to a 600GB HDD if I wanted to.

That doesn't seem possible with the way the Wii works. They would have to update every online game for Wii, and since there's no way to patch Wii games, they would have to send out entirely new discs. This would be very costly. Even the Wii Menu wouldn't be able to support it, as the Wii isn't online when it's on the menu, and it doesn't seem like it would take a firmware update to change it.

Why the crap do you even need a 600 GB HDD? Second, the PS3 needs those GB because Blu-ray has to store several GB of the games before playing them
I just realised something. It was the Game Developer's Conference that the SD card update (and Virtual Console Arcade) were released. This year's GDC is almost here!
