Klonoa (Gotta the most boring and tedious platformer I've played in a long time) No More Heros (Haven't been able to bring myself to go past level 2)
I totaly gotta disagree with you. Klonoa is one of the greatest platformers I've ever played, Although it is on the easy side which is it's only short comings. the graphics are beautiful, the worlds are surreal, inspiring and dream like and the soundtrack is brilliant. It's very compelling from start to finish, it's easily one of the greatest experiences I've had on the Wii.
Yeah, I understand, It seems that a lot of people like this game, and I was chomping at the bit to play it since I am a huge platformer fan. While I like the art style and enjoy the music for the most part, I found it far to easy and pretty predictable. I can't remember a single moment when I played that game that I felt wowed or surprised. I got to the last level and just couldn't bring myself to finish it. And again, I love platformers. Super Mario Galaxy is a favorite and I'm really getting into Sonic 3 and Knuckles (never played them when they first came out).
Klonoa - I didn't think it was a bad game, but after all the hype on nintendolife I was expecting a lot more. Too easy, too short, and a bit too childish for my liking. The final few stages were challenging and stunning, but it was too little too late.
Okami- I didn't really like the wolf parts in Twilight Princess, and since basically this game is like a big copy of the wolf sections from that game, I didn't really enjoy it much. And fighting enemies was just such a bore. I might try it later, though...
Okami came before Twilight Princess. TP was the copy and lesser game.
Considering they were in production at the same time, neither game is a copy of the other, but I agree with Quikman
None, I only have 12 (+Wii Sports), but I've only bought 3 for full price.
I rarely play them though (exceptions: FE got a ton of time during my first playthrough, but I haven't gone back yet. Brawl got 500 hours, but broke twice, I'll not repair it this time. SNK Arcade Classics also got maybe 15 hours, which isn't bad), I play GC much more often.
Avatar: The Last Airbender: It's okay but I just can't like it. It's boring sometimes and as much as I like the show, the game never did it enough justice on the Wii (and you can't bend like that on the Wii!!!)
Deca Sports: My dad bought it for the system, and although it has good sports, it falls flat in most of them.
Far Cry: Vengeance: BORRINNNGGGGGG! I like SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab more than this, because it was actually good for a five-hour game. Far Cry on the other hand, just boring.
I'm sure this one's been mentioned before, but I'll repeat it anyway—Pokemon Battle Revolution.
The only thing that made it kind of worth it—and it took me a while to find out about it—is that you can get use Mystery Gift to transfer an Electivire and a Magmortar to D/P/P (there's also a special Pikachu, but you actually have to work for it)...
Red Steel: One of the few Wii games on my shelf that I've yet to pass. My brother actually purchased this one, though, and its multi-player is decent, so that softens the blow a bit...
"Don't make enemies, they'll stab your heart; don't make friends, they'll stab your back. Including me, including you, all men are trash. Don't love; don't be loved. Have nothing to do with other; live in isolation."
Okami- I didn't really like the wolf parts in Twilight Princess, and since basically this game is like a big copy of the wolf sections from that game, I didn't really enjoy it much. And fighting enemies was just such a bore. I might try it later, though...
How are they copies when they only have one or two aspects of each game in common? Yes, you star as a wolf, much like how you do in Twilight Princess half the time. Also both games include annoying support characters who talk for the main character, because obviously even in a fantasy world, wolves can't talk. Also both games manage to fit into the incredibly broad and ambiguous Action/Adventure genre, though both games go in completely different directions with it. Other than that, they really aren't very similar at all. They're like apples and oranges - two completely different things. You can't just say two things are exactly alike because of some small aesthetic similarities. Next thing you know, you're gonna be telling me Star Fox is a copy of Psycho Fox because they both star foxes.
By the way, you don't have to fight at all outside of dungeons if you don't want to. The scrolls leave you alone during the day, and they're pretty easy to avoid during the night. The battles only really get you money, which you usually don't need if you're not doing much fighting.
I got Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the New World as a present from my brother and didn't like it. I swear he got it for me just because he doesn't have a Wii and he wants to play it on mine, because he knows I hate JRPGs, so he basically bought himself a present and claimed it as a present for me. Great brother there. - _ -
The funny thing is I 'still' havent got around to play Zelda: Twilight Princess yet...and I have it in my collection as well, yet I don't consider it in my collection because i seriously don't want it. Now I love Zelda, but TP looks uninspired, and the worlds look like they all consist of browns and greys which to me is dull an depressing. Instead of doing something different it looks like it's trying immitate OOT. The last great Zelda game i played and finished was Phantom Hour Glass. The Touch screen controls were amazing in that game during some of the dungeons and boss battles.
House of the Dead: Overkill - Simply put, the WORST HOTD game i've ever played. Where do i begin...For the first time ever in a HOTD game this puppy runs at 30fps and even stutteres at times. The screen even manages freeze/clip in certain moments which is just akward and annoying. And i wasn't digging the whole Grindhouse Vibe either and the constant abuse of the F-bomb got old fast...As for the IR controls...if you plan on turning off the reticule you are screwed, The accuracy is just terrilbe and unplayable. It's piss poor compared to the perfect Arcade Accuracy of the 'greater' HOTD 2 & 3 Return for the Wii. Even the level design, enemies and their animations are weaksauce....And the Boss Battle are laughably easy and boring. Once again an American developer fails to capture the intensity, arcade-experience, creativity, fun and spot on controls of the previous HOTD games(2 especially) that were pumped out of Sega Japan. I wanted to call it quits half way through but i did end up finishing it....Time I'll never get back ;p Don't waste your cash on this Half assed bore fest....get HOTD 2 & 3 Return and a Nyko Perfect shot and you're good to go!
Mario Kart Wii - Actually....I haven't purchased this one yet, but i've played the hell out of it after renting it. it had the potential to be the greatest Mario kart to date but it royaly screwed up because of a few things. Now I'm one of the many who simply just hates the Blue Shell....There are a few other annoying cheap items to be found in this game as well. Really, the whole experience often feels like you're winning based on luck. That Blue Shell can make you go from 1st to last in a matter of seconds. Instead of ditching the Blue Shell, Nintendo should of added a Super Smash Brawl-like 'Item On/off menu' that alone would of sealed the deal and made this game all the more better.
Another total dissapointment was VS Mode....Yes online works like a charm, not a single hiccup. But it's all 'time' based which totaly sucks. Where were the 'Lives based' modes!? Those 2 changes alone would of made this game fantastic...Although i wasn't crazy on the mediocre and forgettable music either ;p I still feel like I should add this to my collection if I can get it cheap, but at the same time I'm just not too sure. Oh and i can't forget about the Motion Control steering....well, it's alright. Yet I found the controls in Excitebots to be better though
Mario Kart Wii, worst in the series, and just sucked.
Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart: Super Circuit are my fav's. Mario Kart DS is great too...But it lacks the charm of the other two i mention and it has that damn annoying Blue Shell.
