ok first tell me what wireless roughter you have. and internet service.
This is ground control to major Tom, you've really made the grade. And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear
Now it's time to leave the capsule if you dare
I do not have one yet. Or do you need one for it [Router]? I'm just asking if they will work on my Wii. I currently have dial-up internet by the way, but I do not want to use it on my Wii.
-you can use a "router" that you can connect to you pc on the back then you have wirreles internet (but by this way your pc have to be always on -a kind of usb memory stick that you put in the pc works also (only if it sends wifi) then you go search on the internet for the nintendo wifi program and viola (with this your pc also must stay on when you want wii online
thanks nr.09, but could you re-explain the stick thing? I don't understand what you mean by "with this your pc also must stay on when you want your wii online" But this could mean I can get internet! YAY!!!
see you can buy an usb stick that sends wifi to 10 meters or something (you can buy an official one from nintendo) you plug that into your pc and get the nintendo wifi program this gives the signal ok so your wii can use the wifi (iff you get the official one from nintendo than this is standerd in that usb) but if al that is done your pc must stay powerd and have internet connection otherwise it can't send wifi to your wii (its simpler done then said)
Ok, in short... No . You cannot use a data card (USB/PCI) on a Wii if you are talking about the ones you can get from At&T, TMOBILE, Sprint.
The "Stick Thing" nr.09 was talking about is like a "mini access point" you can buy that will convert your PC's internet into a wifi signal. That MAY work in theory, but will not work in practical apprication if you use a dial up on your PC. Even so, i'm not sure you are both talking about the same thing.
Setting up any access point or router on a dial-up is increadibly impactical. So the "stick thing" solution wouldn't work right unless you did broadband.
What you CAN do, is if you want to get a USB data card you can connect it to a PC, and then use a "stick thing" to broadcast a signal to the wii. That would work, and give you decent quality internet on the Wii. But I'm not sure it wold make much sense, as the data card's subscription are just as expensive as most broadbands.
http://omgnintendo.blogfaction.com/global/radar/blog_images/4... You can use one of these, But you have to have broadband. I think that is what (at least one of you) is talking about. BTW the wii will not connect on dial up no matter what you do. At least as far as I know
Wii : 5234 3442 0233 5325 3DS: 2664-2106-1671 I have A LOT of games, if you want to play something, just email me jangonov...
You people confuzzle me. If I buy one of those nintendo wi-fi connectors, I could use it to get on my Wii? I could probably buy one today. I'll give it a try anyways...
I live in Alberta in the country. No way I can get a connection out here. I'm trying to convince my parents to get us wireless, but my mom thinks I'll be on there to much. I'll keep trying though.
No, you can only plug the USB stick on the computer, a little warning thou, the thing is hard to configurate, so I recommend you to buy a Nintendo official one, at least the Wii has a special menu to recognise it, then you could call Nintendo Service for advise, unless you know a computer expert off course.
go to gamestop buy a NINTENDO WIFI USB CONNECTER (something like that) go to ur comp install it then go on ur wii and search the wireless thing for NINTENDO USB CONNECTOR then click it, go to ur comp use the registration tool for the usb thing and allow ur wii acess, now ur all set (u just need $40 and u computer to have internet) i used this and i still would be if my comp didnt crash (i cant use my 360 internet ) so go buy the usb thing
