I like to believe that the Wii is home of games that people like, but at the same time other people hate them. In my case, many of my favorite games are those that have been misunderstood or are downright hated by the gaming community.
So now I ask you, what games you LOVE, but everyone else seems to hate?
Here are mine: Wii Play: When this came out EVERY gamers hated this. Yes, its a simple mini game collection, but to me the mini games are fun, and it comes with a Wii Remote, so its a pretty good deal.
Wii Music: Do I need to say more? I truly enjoyed the game, and when I first got it, I made hundreds of videos and remixes.
Samba de Amigo: A lot of people criticized the game's controls. They are tricky, yes, but I thought they worked fine once you learned them.
Super Paper Mario has fans. It has legions of fans. Trust me... It's such a great game.
Personally though... I don't know... I mean I would say Gradius ReBirth if it weren't for the fact that everyone seems to love it too except for Corbie of course (A FREAKING 6?!). Other than that, don't think there is anything...
Oh yes... I forgot about Sonic and the Secret Rings. I agree its such an underrated game on Wii. Compared to Sonic 2006 it was a masterpiece. The graphics are great, I love the concept and despite some rough controls the game plays well.
I haven't played Sonic and the Black Knight. All I keep hearing is that its pretty damn bad, but I have yet to try it for myself.
Well, I wouldn't say I "loved" it, but Wii Play was decent, and a lot of the minigames were a lot of fun. i don't understand why so many people hated it so.

Yeah. Had it been a standard release priced at 50 bucks, no Wii Remote, then yeah it would be bad. But if you see the game as a 10 dollar disc bundled with a 40 dollar controller there's value to it. Its one of the reasons why the game keeps selling like crazy each week.

I can name several hundred games you could buy for $10 or less that's much better than Wii Play...
I can't think of a single game for Wii worth buying that's less than ten dollars. Unless you're talking about used games, and if you are, that's obviously true, because there's a LOT of used games for less than $10 out there.

I meant just games in general, not specifically for the Wii... And yes, I was thinking about used games... Might just be me but I see no difference between a used game or a new game as long as they both work. Although, with all the Virtual Console and WiiWare games available, I'm sure we can get to 100 non-used quite easily...
Super Paper Mario got a decent metacritic rating and has its fans so I would disagree that it is a loathed game. I liked it too. Similarly, Wii Play's and Sonic Wii games' sales suggest they were pretty much loved. I loved Wii Play, but thought Rings and Unleashed were marginbally above average or "not bad". Wii Play got a 90% from ONM as well.
The only ones I can think of are games like EA Playground and Family Trainer Outdoor Challenge. They didn't recieve good ratings and didn't sell well as far as I know. The family and I loved those games.
Wii Music is a marmite game. You love it or hate it.
"They say video games are bad for you? That's what they said about rock n' roll."
@Djungleurban I usually buy games used. Almost always, as a matter of fact. But I don't think it's fair to compare games that used to games that are brand new if they cost the same. You can get much more for your money if you buy used, especially if it's a really old game, so it's not really fair to compare that way
Godzilla Unleashed: A good fighting game that does a good job of entertaining, and, in the end, isn't that what games are all about?
Yeah, add me to the Godzilla Unleashed fan club; I do hope we see another one with better controls (and more monsters -- Hedora shouldn't have been PS2 exclusive!) someday.
OVERLOOKED: Another Code R - recommended for fans of top quality adventures. Excite Truck - it got a bit of recognition lately but still this is an underdog.
OVERLOOKED TWICE: Pikmin 2 - Miyamotos Finest! Go out and buy Pikmin 2 already! Come on, only 30 bucks new! Donkey Kong Jungle Beat - Get it or yer real ape!
Definitely Wii Music, though I stand by my closed-minded assessment that 90% of those who "hate" it never played it, and are drawing their knowledge from some hilarious review instead.
I have good taste so I don't love any games that everyone else hates.

Anyone can simulate its gameplay by playing this whilst shaking their wiimote vigourously and decide for themselves.
