Let's see, games I still want in my collection: Goldeneye NiGHTS Wii Mario Galaxy 2 Kirby's Epic Yarn DKCR De Blob/De Blob 2 CoD (at least one of them anyway) Epic Mickey Trauma Team Zelda SS
Games I may end up wanting: NSMB Wii ExciteBots Punchout!! Wii WarioLand Shake WarioWare Smooth Moves PoP the Forgotten Sands Kirby's Return to Dreamland Rhythm Heaven Wii Go Vacation Rodea the Sky Soldier The Last Story Pandora's Tower Dragon Quest X a TON of WiiWare and VC releases some Gamecube games I still need
...so I guess despite everything, I'm good for the next year or two. There are some serious holes I would have liked to have been filled in certain genres (3rd person shooters and flight games to name a few), but I'll make do with what's on the PC.
@n0body - you must play ExciteBots - I bought myself a US Wii just to play this title (rather than have any online hassles due to using Homebrew Channel) Much more fun than Mario Kart - and I like Mario Kart - for a lousy racer like me who's anywhere but where he's s'posed to be, I can still rack up the points!
Although it's not a 2012 release, looking forward to CoD:MW3 on the Wii, partly because it's the only console that my two sons and I have in common, and the remainder because I feel I've had more fun playing Goldeneye and Black Ops on the Wii than I can remember on the PS3, even with the FC rigmarole (where it applies).
Most of all, I'm looking forward to the Wii U being able to play my small collection of Wii games and - 'fingers-crossed' - transferring all Wii Shop downloads. I cannot honestly believe it is technically that hard to securely shift a game's DRM licence from one console to another.
@Schprocket thanks for the tip. I played Mario Kart to death on the DS so I was looking for something different to play on Wii, I think it'll be either EB or Sonic Racing.
I've got enough Wii games on the back burner flamage' to play as it is. I'll be plugging away at my Wii until the Wii U hits.
Still, I'm suprised we never saw a Wii Sequal to F-Zero, Wave Race or StarFox not to mention pikmin. I'm sure Nintendo will have a few more semi-sweet goodies in store for 2012.
Or Pilot Wings, or Luigi's Mansion, or Mario Golf/Tennis...
Why does every thread about lists of future Wii games turn into a list of old games people still need to get?!
By the way, there's not that much to wait for in terms of quantity, but the quality should be first class: Skyward Sword, Kirby, Last Story, Pandora's Tower, Rodea, Dragon Quest X, Rhythm Heaven and a handful of mediocre to good little titles (Pilotwings, Back to the Future etc). It's a decent list of titles, considering that Jan 2011 - Aug 2011 we had absolutely nothing.
Plus something inside of me keeps saying that we'll see a double release of Pikmin 3 for both Wii and WiiU, but that's just a premonition.
Top-10 games I played in 2017: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (WiiU) - Rogue Legacy (PS3) - Fallout 3 (PS3) - Red Dead Redemption (PS3) - Guns of Boom (MP) - Sky Force Reloaded (MP) - ...
I 'expect' my Wii will continue gathering dust over in the corner.
All consoles gather dust don't they? I mean you don't wave your xbox and PS3 in the air while you play it while your wii gathers dust? Well i know i don't.

well yeah, but they kinda reversed what's preferred. The 2nd to last year of release you still release stuff, if not as much as the year before. THEN, you have a lack of releases so that people can buy old games they missed. That just seems more convenient at least.
During the next 2 years probably any Wii game will sell much better than any WiiU game, if Nintendo leaves the Wii to die their pockets will be the first to suffer.
Rhythm Heaven Wii. I'm pretty much satisfied by this point and have gotten the most mileage and gaming out of my wii for now (I've played/owned 45 wii games and currently own over 50 VC and Wiiware games). Planning on getting a PS3 for Holiday season and finally doing all that catching up I need to do over 2012. (I've been neglecting Sony since I had to choose between the Wii and PS3 when they came out. I went for the cheaper and platformer-oriented decision )
So yeah, Nintendo, lemme know when you start breaking out some real hits on the Wii U and 3DS next year and I'll have my money in my "Nintendo needs this" wallet ready.
Why do astronauts backtrack? They forgot the Space Jump Boots.

I will probably just keep it in the basement with my 90's TV. Brawl will be the only thing I'll be using it for, since my friends like to use the gamecube controllers.
