What do you expect to happen to our console in 2012.From what I see there are around 10 interesting titles coming by the end of the year, but very little is known what will happen next.Do you expect Nintendo to keep going and what games do you expect to see based on rumours, news etc.Do you think that 2012 will be Wii's last? This is what I'm interested in coming in 2011 Go Vacation Skylanders Kirby's Return to Dreamland Back to the future Skyward sword Centipede: Infestation Disney Universe Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games Rayman:Origins Need for Speed: The Run Fortune street
The Last Story should be out in 2012. That keeps me happy for my Wii fix for the year. I don't expect too much more support after the Wii U hits the shelves.
There's a trickle of titles still to come - my list of things to watch out for (not necessarily buy, I'll see how the reviews go) is (keeping in mind some of these haven't necessarily been announced for a PAL release):
Last Story Skyward Sword Pandora's Tower Kirby: Return to Dreamland Bit.Trip COMPLETE Rhythm Heaven Wii Earth Seeker Fishing Resort Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny Dragon Quest X Go Vacation
I probably won't get all of them, but there's a couple of definites there. I'm actually looking forward to the end of the Wii releases, in a way (same for the DS) - I've got lots of games for them already, but once I know that the releases have stopped I can figure out any remaining games I want to get, buy them, and have my collection 'finished' as far as games I would like go. (Then I'll just be back to the PC as a gaming platform, and only have that to worry about!).
I used to have a blog link here. I'll put it back up when the blog has something to read.
Quality wii releases for in 2012: Mario party 9 Rhythm paradise wii Fortune street The last story (EU) Pandora's tower (EU) Rune factory: tides of destiny (EU) Rodea the sky soldier (hopefully) Dragon quest X Fishing resort (possible EU release) Bit. trip complete (possible EU release unless it comes out near the end of this year)
Out of those, I'm definitely getting The last story, Pandora's tower and Bit. trip complete and I'll probably get Rodea: the sky soldier if it does get a western release and I might get Mario party 9 and Rhythm paradise wii and there are still many wii games that are out now that I need to get as well as a few coming out near the end of this year that I like the look of. I haven't decided if I'll get any of the games I mentioned near release yet though.
I can tell you one thing. There sure as hell won't be a Virtual console anymore. Already isn't.
3DS Friend code 4038-6006-7917 Wii Friend code 3553-5293-8702-0039 Smash Bros. Brawl 0001-3032-2653 Mario vs DK: Minis March Again 3310-6435-2823 Wii and 3DS ID Link
I'll still be playing Smash Bros Brawl. Especially summer time. Mario Party 9 and the 3 RPGs which I'm assuming NoA is holding for 2012 will be out. But my main focus is really shifting to 3DS.
so if those EU games aren't released in America, what would suck more? GCN in 2006 or Wii in 2012?
GCN in 2006 had Chibi Robo, Megaman X Collection and Baten Kaitos Origins for actual worthwhile games. So I guess it depends if you count Twilight Princess and/or you're a big MMO fan with DQX.
Next year I'm gonna try to get some of the many wii games I want, but missed out on.
Be careful - in my experience, waiting too long for console games means you end up paying a fortune for them once they're out of print (particularly if you're picky about condition like me).
I tend to prioritise my purchases, so games with smaller print runs (e.g. lesser-known third-party games) I buy first, and leave things like the Marios and such to last since so many copies of them are printed that it't not too hard to find one.
I used to have a blog link here. I'll put it back up when the blog has something to read.
Wii is pretty much finished for me once Skyward Sword and Kirby is released, I doubt anything else is going to come out that will catch my eye.
I'll probably try and get my hands on Donkey Kong and Epic Yarn, and maybe a few of the other games I passed over. Little Kings Story I guess... might get Wario Land: Shake it if I can find it for cheap... didn't they stop making new copies of that game because it did so poorly? Shame that. I hope they don't put any of the blame on the visuals, it's easily one of Nintendo's best looking 2D games.
I won't be throwing out my Wiii when Wii U gets here. I Like my gamecube games and gamecube controller support, thank you very much. Also my Wii has EarthBound, Mother, and Mother 3 on it ( among other games they won't release or re-release on VC ) on it, so, yeah.
I don't always give myself signatures, but when I do, you just read it.
@pocket_arsenal You should definitely get LKS and WL: the shake dimension no matter what price, they are two of the best games on the wii. You should be able to get them pretty cheaply these days, especially the former. I got LKS earlier this year for £4.98.
Doesn't bother me that there may not be too many games coming out in 2012. I'll be tackling Skyward Sword and Kirby, I still need to get around to playing Okami, Epic Mickey, and Metroid Other M, and later in the year Dragon Quest X will be out (hopefully)
