I'd rather buy GC games than WW games, although I have most of the GC games I want now, most were $10-12 at pawn shops, a few were $15, and the odd ones were around $19 (like TLoZ:WW, and MP2 new, still in the plastic wrap).
O, i c, but on the other issue of the gcn games prices being practically the same as games on the store...aren't we being ripped off a bit saying an n64 game or on vc or a wiiware game is equal value to a 9.99 gamecube game in stores lol
But this is just a terrible quote, more content != better. Lots of the VC N64 are better than most GC games anyways. Wiiware games? No, but they may be more along the lines of what you're looking for than on the GC. And then GC games need GC controls and memory cards, which some people might not be willing to get depending on how much they care about the GC games.
I picked up PN.03 the other day for about £5. I love playing GC on the Wii, and wish the game shops would push it more, I don't know why they don't what the the oodles of GC games there must be in the pre-owned market. Durgh!
Wow, forgot i made this topic xD, let me clear up a lot of stuff (ill make it short and sharp)
I'm not really young to whoever had such a random and unnecessary comment
I do like wiiware as well, i agree theres lots of good titles just wanted to ask this question
I find tons of games for 10 dollars and less that are GCN
My bad for saying port gamecube to the shop, i was trying to come across asking get gcn games in stores for 10 dollars not the shop, sorry.
I like GCN games too, i dont think theyre low quality or all have poor content
You can find n64 games still, just look around (my town, not city, TOWN, has TONS, imagine looking in a whole CITY)
And finally, this is in no way the same argument as why buy Wii ps3 and xbox 360 games, just get gcn, ps2 and xbox games...how the hell is that similar to what i'm asking? Thats a ridiculous statement which to me has no relevance to what i'm asking.
There were some aspects of your previous posts that to me would indicate a younger poster. You are right in that it wasn't terribly relevant.
So what exactly is your argument then? Of course last generation used games are going to be cheap. Are you saying wiiware should compete with gamecube games as far as their pricing and make sure to be cheaper? Publishers have no direct control over aftermarket prices and that is an area that simply does them no good as it only makes money for resellers. Anyone making a new game is going to have to charge more in order to turn in a profit to make up for development costs as opposed to a reseller who got the games very cheap and can easily turn in a profit. There is no aftermarket for wiiware so everything you buy there is "new" just to clarify.
If gamecube games where brought out new again by publishers they would also have to charge more than the $10 you are paying for the used games and so they would most likely cost around $20 or more and be more than wiiware games.
Or is your argument simply that its a better value to buy used gamecube games over wiiware games?

Yes, i already said it in the topic description: "why should i buy wiiware games for 1000 points when i can buy classic and great gamecube games with a lot more content and better graphics for the same amount". I am saying that isnt a gcn better value to buy for the price than wiiware is if you are paying roughly the same amount (at least i am) for both. Don't get me wrong, i havent been buying GCN, i only have wiiware and the gcn i have is from last gen. But i just wanted to raise a comparison between the quality for the dollars we pay for each. Sorry if this just turns to arguing, not what i had in mind.

Why buy WiiWare when you could buy GC? They're completely different things. Both have great games.
yah i realize this doesnt make much sense lol i was going to delete since its not turning into anything productive but i guess i can ask do you think you'd be more satisfied buying wiiware or a gcn game for $10?

If you never had a GC, then this is a great time to buy GC games....if you have played every GC game though, then WiiWare games won't feel like such a rip off

Ok well now I know exactly what you're saying. You were also starting to make other points like bringing gamecube games to the wii shop which made me think your argument was going in a different direction that would have been very week. Also there is nothing wrong with arguing as long it doesn't devolve into a "you're stupid. no you are" kinda thing.
Actually in some cases your argument may be right and makes some sense since gamecube games do play on the Wii. However, they do require a gamecube controller (I personally hate the gamecube controller) and memory card if you want to save, plus require you to stand your wii up which may require some to change their arrangement of the wii. Still there are some quality gamecube games that haven't been brought over to the wii with some available fairly cheap like f zero. I would still argue that good wiiware does provide a good value and can even provide a good value against similarly priced gamecube games. As I said before wiiware works directly on the wii and so uses the wii controller which provides the kinds of experiences you wouldn't get on the wii. Few gamecube games offered any kind of online support and none work online with the wii. Many wiiware games offer some kind of online support and actually more wiiware works online than retail wii games. Games with online increase re playability and so can actually sometimes give you more gaming than a retail gamecube game will. Wiware allows you to change games without having to change discs and so is great if you like to switch around games a lot and try different things.
To me wiiware is actually a better value in most cases but I can see where some might think differently.
I can say as a fact good GCN games are not $10. I'm starting a business selling in used GC games and people will happily pay AU$66 (~US$50) for a copy of Wind Waker (PAL). To put it in perspective, the Conduit is $64 new at JB.

@Kimjongil O wow that guys getting ripped off. you're pratically robbing this (pardon my language) dimwit. 50 dollars my foot, what a joke. Over at chumleighs where i am WW is 12.99 canadian i think (so maybe its not 9.99) and even on Amazon.com for the states, you guys can buy a used copy for 14 dollars american. Lucky you though, get as much as you can out of this guy if hes willing to pay that.
@Alexsaysandothers Ya i forgot to consider that by buying gcn games you arent helping advance wii gaming and wiiware. So yes it is more pratical to do wiiware in these days. Going back to jrbrodack, i see what you are saying too now and you are right about how online is scarce on the cube (i still prefer offline) but also if you have the online games no one will be playing them still so its really a lost cause to go back in time and play these games that no one else is playing, i admit/agree.
Errr, why buy wiiware when you can buy decent, and quite cheap ds games too on e bay?! Apples and oranges as Corbs would say. If you really like a game and its decent value for money for you buy it whether its wiiware, gc or whatever. If you don't want to then don't. There are some fantastic games on all the formats. Sounds like the title poster isn't really into wiiware or the whole download thing imho.
"They say video games are bad for you? That's what they said about rock n' roll."

I don't think you understand. I am selling him a different product to what you would buy in America/Canada, and he could turn around and sell it when he's done for about US$50 anyway. The reason this is is because I will be selling PAL games, which are far rarer than "impure" NTSC versions. This is because the GameCube crashed and burned at retail in Australia, and now that everyone has a Wii they want to play what they missed out on. And anyway, to actually purchase stock I need to pay about US$30-US$35 per copy and then wait 10 days shipping. The buyer is simply getting what they paid for.
And please don't say pardon my language unless you are going to say something rude.
I was just in a store the other day that sells tons of gamecube games for 5.99 up to 9.99 (the max price there for GCN games) and when i saw this i started thinking...why should i buy wiiware games for 1000 points when i can buy classic and great gamecube games with a lot more content and better graphics for the same amount. Maybe they need to start porting gamecube games to the shop or something because they are selling at the same price as wiiware anyway (and theres tons more content in them)
I already got almost all GC games I care about.
Plus WiiWare tends to do new things you've never seen in a retail game.
