He's not the creator of the series. He once worked for Argonaut, the company hired by Nintendo to help create the special chip and 3D engine, but "Main game design was done by Shigeru Miyamoto and Katsuya Eguchi. Yoichi Yamada, a level designer for many Nintendo games, laid out and edited the Star Fox maps" -Wikipedia (and yes, sourced from interviews with the creators). Star Fox 64--by far the best of the series, if you ask me--was made entirely by Ninendo's own EAD.
What we need is for another 1st party Star Fox, none of these other devs that Nintendo allowed to make sequels have been able to turn out a game half as good as the first two.

I am a bit perturbed that 'Shigsy' is so keen to have Fox get out of the plane and run around....Metroid is the run 'n' gun franchise, Mario does the platforming really well and Link has the Action-RPG genre sown up. The best game by miles was 64, why? because it was a great on rails blaster with well designed levels, secrets and had a load of replayability in search of high scores. Plus the music was good. (This is all my opinion of course).
What people want, judging by sales, is a prettier version of Lylat Wars with everything turned up to 11. I'd buy it, quite a few probably would, hell maybe some of the more casual male gamers would buy it too, you can't get lost, there's tons of action, and it's easy to pick up and play for short bursts.
If I could ever presume to give Shigsy any advice it would be that in this case, maybe doing only very minor tweaks is the best thing, the formula was brilliant first time, trying to add new elements (like in assault) just hasn't truly worked, Starfox Assault was a prime example of the phrase: jack of all trades and master of none. (Even the flying levels just wern't as good)

First, I would like to see the SNES Star Fox on the VC. I think it's still the best in the franchise. I never was too hot on the addition of the Landmaster either.

I'd like Treasure to make a Star Fox with co-op instead of versus. EAD seems to be too busy with Zelda and a million Mario games lately to do this. I don't think we'll see Star Fox for awhile.
4 games in my life - I have gotten mucho hyped for in ads/commercials - Sports Resort, Wii Sports, Ocarina of Time - and Star Fox SNES....
Star Fox for SNES was mind blowing back in the day, I still enjoy it - and I is one of 2 SNES VC games I will purchase if released.....
But if it is Assault, which was just so horrifingly mediocre with an awful story (and please - no story) - then I do not care. But yes fun flying games are few and far between, Star Fox, Pilotwings, I am there, baby.
Also - since Star FOx Franchise continues ot get os much love in Smash Brothers, I think it is inevitable as well. A matter of time....

ooo ooo ooo a Star Fox where you could fight in teams with your friends against people over wi-fi, and with Wii Speak capabilities would be so awesome... though me and my friends would end up parroting 'do a barrel roll' the entire time because we're dorks like that
BEST THREAD EVER future of NL >:3

They need to put Star Fox on VC already. I lost my copy. I'm one of those weird people who prefers it to the 64 version (though that is very good, too).
I don't know that Smash Brothers should be a good indication though (as much as I want it to be). It worked for Marth and Roy, but Ness and Lucas are still crying in the corner (well, Lucas certainly is, being a crybaby and all).

I am too - it has better WAY better music and more atmosphere. Sure the graphics are sparse but that is part of the charm. The N64 controls loads better but the d pad does fine here....
IGN: The holiday Wii lineup looks thin for the hardcore crowd. We see this. Gamers see this. What, if anything, is Nintendo planning to address it?
Oh good, I am neither a gamer or hardcore. Saves me from having to be IGNorant. Right, Down, A, Down, Right, Up
