Topic: Who is picking up Wii Sports Resort tomorrow?

I've been playing Wii Sports Resort all weekend with the wifey. She's a total non-gamer but has somehow got hooked on this, which is a testament to how good it is!

I've been playing swordplay, archery, frisbee and table tennis the most at the moment, but the other sports seem pretty decent too. I even like cycling! Canoeing and Wakeboarding are my least favourites.

One of the biggest surprises is how much fun flying about in the plane over the islands is. I got hooked on that for about an hour trying to find all the points of interest. I am up to about 60 out of 80 now. It's great fun!

This is really an essential purchase for any self respecting Wii owner I would say.

Didn't get the game today, Walmart and RadioShack are the only places to buy games in my town and they didn't have it.
The only other option to get it today his to drive 30 miles to a Best Buy in another city.

I really think cycling looks pretty fun. Sure, it's not Mario Kart, but it looks solid and it has multiplayer.

I only played cycling once, but I enjoyed it. It seems like even if I pedal really slowly my guy gets worn out though, which is frustrating. I guess he doesn't do a lot of cardio. Apparently my Mii spends all his time lying out on the beach in borderline heterosexual flowery shirts. To be honest, I envy him. I wish I could get away with that look.

I've had a few odd M+ issues, though nothing broken. Putting in golf somehow manages to be even worse than in the original. Archery will sometimes have the bow pointing way off-center so that if you want to aim straight in the game you have to maneuver the remote way off to the side and pointed down, which is very awkward. I tried recalibrating via the + (pause) menu -- no dice. Oh well, still a heck of a lot of fun.

There wasn't a single game that I did not enjoy, though I still have three or four modes I haven't played on some games, like Sky Diving under Air Sports. Standouts were: Frisbee (surprisingly, the Frisbee Dog has been more fun than Frisbee Golf), Basketball (both modes), and of course Table Tennis.

Perhaps the most satisfying part of the game is playing a pick-up game of basketball and throwing the ball at someone's face. Classic.

Cycling works fine. Not my favorite game but I do believe it is underrated. It even has a co-op (bike for 2) mode which is interesting.

The big things are rythm, drafting, and timing. It is probbaly the deepest game on there as far as strategy goes, it is not easy to win. Also the music for that mode , while cheesy, is also smile enducing and inspirational - no really! And you cannot complain about the amount of races either. Hardly a 'tacked on' mode....

I like archery and sword fighting best, followed by Island flying, but I have not played everything yet. Tried a littlge golf (bmy fav orginal game) but now I have to relearn it all, I have no rythm in the backswing/front swing thing yet...!

IGN: The holiday Wii lineup looks thin for the hardcore crowd. We see this. Gamers see this. What, if anything, is Nintendo planning to address it?

Oh good, I am neither a gamer or hardcore. Saves me from having to be IGNorant.

It is NOT the deepest game.
Swordplay Showdown is the deepest.

It is awesome I love the game, my most favorite games are pretty much all of them! The controls are pretty much perfect and the game itself is so fraking amazing. I love it!

I thought I had the hang of it, but now golf is actually worse. Sometimes randomly the M+ will register all forward motion as backwards and vice versa. Very annoying. Putting seems way too sensitive. I guess it will just take getting used to, but sometimes it's just the game screwing up and not me.

I'm sure TW PGA Tour 10 will address all your complaints.

I'm hoping to get WS Resort tomorrow but although I wanted to save TW PGA Tour 10 for a different day I'm thinking of getting it the same day so i can play multiplayer right away.

I'll probably be getting it on Wednesday or Thursday since I'll be camping until Wednesday and I don't want my brother and sister to be having all the fun with my money.

Well after playing it for about a few hours today I can say is that it is a good game and worth the price. I have played most of the games and love them all. I sucked at bowling at first as I was used to the original one but this new one just blows the old (original) one out of the water. Love the new motion plus and hopefully 3rd parties would take advantage of it (I know EA has already started).

I have to drive that to get to a Walmart and the Radioshack in town doesn't carry games. I have to drive 100 miles to get to any Best Buy/Futureshop or EB Games, etc.

I had the exact same problem at first! I fixed it by switching from right handed to left handed, and I never had that problem again. I agree with the putting being too sensitive, especially on short putts. Although, it works great for me with long putts!

Can't Wait for Gran Turismo 5, NSMB Wii, Demon's Souls, Ratchet and Clank ACIT, and Uncharted 2!

And that's just 2009...

I completely forgot this comes out tomorrow...I'm getting it though.

I got it earlier today. And it's awesome! I had a big group over to play it and we all had a blast.
