Topic: When is the next wii system update?

I think it should be updated to 4.3 next. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You mean since March when we got Netflix? Yeah your right.

Europe hasn't got an update for the longest time.

Out of pure honesty I don't know of anything else Nintendo could update other than a patch for pirating games. Or atleast some kind of update for like a youtube channel. But, then again we now have Netflix and still the Wii no Mah channel still up in the air.

We should be able to see our friends online or not and see what game they're playing. ...as an update.

Of course I do, but doing it over the Wii...that's just sick

What would be the point of having a channel to do that? I'd rather be playing my own games, than reading about what others are.

UPDATE 4.3 SHOULD HAVE
1. Compatibility with the GameCube controller's vibration function (for N64 games)
2. The ability to account for the N64's memory pak by sending all save data to the system memory
3. The ability to return to the Wii Menu while playing GameCube games
4. The ability to cancel internet connection tests manually instead of waiting a whole minute (I don't have my Wii connected 24/7, only for VC, WiiWare, updates, and occasional online gaming)
5. Major update to WaveRace 64, replacing the Wii & DS ads with N64 and GameBoy Color ads (which are more period).

It's a lot, I know, but I'd love to see it.

I'd be happy with rumble (could also enable rumble on the wiimote, since you have to attach the classic controller to it, not as functional as with the GCN controller, but you could still know it was rumbling for games where that would help). and memory pak data. Returning to the Wii Menu for GC games would be cool too, but I think there are like two different processors or something, so it would probably be really difficult. Don't care about that so much though; I don't really mind hitting the power button. What WOULD be cool is GCN saves on the Wii harddrive, my bro has the only memory card we had on the GCN at school.

They should also revamp the shop layout and add demos.

As for other channels and such, I'm happy with the netflix update. I'm guessing that's America's equivalent to Wii no Ma.

I'm guessing that there will be an update in June that will tie into something that they announce at E3. (Like when the Arcade section was added to the Virtual Console.)

I would like a wii channel, similar to nintendo channel but more interactive. Nintendo also needs to have more constructive updates. The last update just took of homebrew but it's been forever since another update appeared and it seems either they are taking thier time or running out of ideas for an update.

I'm not sure if I care about another Wii update (although some of the suggested improvements above were really good). At this point I admit that I'm starting to look forward to hearing about a Wii successor instead...

The ability to show channels from the SD card directly on the home page would be nice.

I would like the UPDATE 4.3 to have the following

1...Anyone to customize his or her wii interface and to play music while the wii boots up (your choice of music from a SD card).
2...Update the internet channel.
3...Remove the Stupid 'Help screen: the heath and safety)
4...More internal memory.
5...when your playing a gamecube game. It would be more convenient to have the classic controller to emulate a gamecube controller.
6...Have websites loud more smoothly on the wii, ie: facebook.
