So as of yesterday i finished resident evil 4 again. That makes 7 times i have played through that game. Officially the most! What game have you played through the most and how many times?
I don't know if this counts due to its age, but probably NARC on the Midway collection. I love that game. As for more recent titles, I'd have to say either Bioshock or Mass Effect, which I've beaten three time each.

I don't even know how many times I've played through the damn game, but it was already way too many at about the age of five. D:
Lieutenant Commander of the Lesbian Love Brigade
There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
@MrG Wow, 7 times? Can't blame you considering RE4 is one of the best games ever! Mine is probably WindWaker. I don't know how many times I played it but I love that game!
@TheFox Awesome! I'm still on my first BioShock playthrough. I hope to one day play Mass Effect since I've heard nothing but great things about it.
Gotta be the original Super Mario Brothers. Played through that game so many times! With warps, without warps; trying to get every coin possible, trying to finish while collecting the fewest coins possible; speed runs and trying to finish without dying, or taking turns beating levels with friends in the room; seeing how many times you can beat the game in a row without continuing. It's impossible to guess how many times I finished that game... but at a time when I simply didn't have other choices, SMB was the one game I could always rely on to have a fun time playing.
Special mention for Final Fantasy 6 (aka FF4 on SNES) which is easily the RPG I've played the most times.
Super Mario RPG - Legend fo the Seven Stars Super Mario Bros (This almost doesn't count. Who HASN'T played this a million times) Super Mario World Super Metroid Sonic 2, 3
I'd count Super Mario 3 but I ussually get to the last World and then lose interest. I've played all of these games, from start to end, at LEAST 10 times. I can't think of a "modern" (non sports) game I've played over more than a couple of times. I did play like 20 seasons of Madden 2003.
@Silent J I can't recommentd playing Mass Effect enough if you do get a chance. The sequel is awesome as well (from what I've played) but I'd recommend starting with the first.

@TheFox Yeah, I'll definitely make sure to play the first one before trying out the sequel. Mass Effect 2 looks amazing from what I've seen. I love that Yvonne Strahovski is in it.
played FF4 a lot of times...I've played through the original Castlevania a ton of times as well. I think Contra 4 might take the cake...I probably played that game through at least 200 times--can't honestly say. There were a lot of days for a lot of months where I start-to-finished it multiple times...I'm sure there were plenty of days I didn't play during that span as well though...

These days I barely have time to play through games once let alone multiple times. The most recent game I've replayed would be RE4 ,just because its awesome. I've completed OoT three times and thats about it. As a child though it was a different story I had a Mega Drive and would play Sonic 1 for hours on end trying to beat my times and must have completed that game many times, I did the same with Streets of Rage 2. I couldn't afford a lot of games as a youngster so what I did have got played A LOT!!

Nice! Contra 4 whupped me badly. The game was great, but I refused to play on the lesser difficulty levels and never managed to get past the 3rd or 4th level because of it.
