If you paid for the internet channel, Nintendo's making it up to you by offering a free NES game! Which one will you get? I'll probably get one of these:
Bubble Bobble Adventure Island Super Mario Bros 2 or 3
Tomena Sanner: Because dancing businessmen are awesome.
I awoke today to find my Wii glowing. Ah, what a beautiful sight...anyway, I'll probably get Kid Icarus or Kirby's Dreamland, but I'll have to look into it more. I never had a NES until recently, so I don't know what's good on the system. I'll have to see what people are getting on this thread.
Gotta say that even though I got the free version at launch I'd be pretty p***** off if I'd paid for it and got refunded a NES game. Not that there's anything wrong with NES games but the point is that I don't like how Nintendo are forcing people to have what they say.The 500 points people used to buy the IC was a free choice so any refund should be able to be spent on whatever you want on the VC.Mind you it's typical of Nintendo they always make strange choices when it comes to stuff like this! On Topic - I would buy Kirby's Adventure but I've already got it.You see the problem with this refund?
Boycott it , i want my points , not a useless Nes game !!!!!!!
What's wrong with you? I think this is a good offer. As for what NES game I'm going to choose, I do not know yet. I have a TON of NES games in mine collection. But, I'm considering possibly choosing either StarTropics or River City Ransom.

How is it a good offer? They rip you off by 500 points for something that should have been free (because it sucks!!) and then they tell you what you have to buy with your refund.Would you take that treatment in a real life shop?
I'd hate to burst anyone's bubble here but, the press release said that "Nintendo will be offering a NES title from Virtual Console worth 500 Wii Points and will be launched in late October." If I'm reading this properly, it means that the game you get, is one that isn't out, and that you DON'T get to choose.
PSN: catcher82611
(I'm not that creative)
3DS FC: 4167-4485-9153

Actually, the message on my wii clearly says: "if you previously used 500 Wii Points to download the internet Channel to your Wii console, at the end of October we will be offering you the oppurtunity to download, for 0 Wii points, one NES game of your choice (valued at 500 Wii points) from the virtual Console catalog." meaning that, a) you DO get a choice after all, and b) you can't cheat the system and get an import for free, earning yourself 100 'free' wii points.
Anyway, if Final Fantasy is out by then, I'll get that. If not, Startropics.
A good offer is giving me back my damn points and if I want an NES game then I'll buy an NES game with those points.
As I mention in the other thread, I won't be surprised if a class-action lawsuit ensues. I believe it would have some merit.
I completely agree. Just as an example what if I was a massive fan of NES games so had already purchased all the games of interest to me on that system, what should I do with my points? download a crappy game or gift it to someone? Hey what if I don't want to? Or what about if I hate NES games, I don't BTW, but again the same quandry applies. I know it's only 500 points but its the principal of the matter. This wouldn't happen in the real world so why are people grateful for shabby treatment in a virtual one? I think Vendetta's right in that Nintendo know that most people won't get a game or even redeem their points.Easy money. Naughty Nintendo, its a good job you make great games!
I really wish I didn't have to get an NES game but anyway... I'll probably be getting one of the last two NES games on my list of VC games to get: Super Dodge Ball or StarTropics 2. I'm gonna re-examine the list of NES titles and see if maybe I can get something else that I may have rejected getting earlier because I didn't like spending 500 Points at the time -- such as City Connection.
Wait, so you people willingly paid $5 for the Internet Channel. Now Nintendo wants to give you a $5 NES game, and you are unsatisfied with that? What if they just didn't offer anything? Hell I'm still annoyed that I bought StarTropics but I'm not gonna demand my 500 points back. And if the price of the game goes down to 300 points or even free I really don't require a refund. You agreed to pay what you paid at the time that you paid it so Nintendo doesn't actually owe you anything.
