It's hard to keep yourself interested in playing it regularly (it has been for me this year) with no new games releasing and the anticipation of a new console. I've only been playing it in multiplayer sessions now.
It's funny how you missed his point.

I will keep my Wii for the GC alone. I missed a lot of that generation of games so I am going to revisit it. There are other reasons like Homebrew junk I may mess with. I have always wanted to do something like that.

Sounds like most people are keeping their Wii so they can play gamecube games... no one kept their gamecube? Mine still works perfectly, so I always kept it. But, what can you get for a used Wii these days, $30? I'll probably keep it in case my Wii U ever breaks, or give it to family. Also, nostalgia.
Keeping it as I don't plan on getting a new console in the foreseeable future. Got a nice collection of games for the Wii and GameCube to last me years yet and I can do all my modern gaming on PC. Tired of consoles dropping support for certain features, always making you re-buy your old titles and removing things from digital sale. With my PC I can keep what I own and if they ever get funny with it there are ways around it. I can still enjoy the Wii in the mean time.
Keeping mine for GameCube games, plus a backup system to play Wii games on. Plus, I have it on a different TV so I could play Wii games in there instead of in the living room, if I wanted. Redundancy within reason is always good.
