Water Warfare should be the typical game that users download to play online. With that in mind, think about this... According to the national Swedish list in Water Warfare there are four online users. I´m number 4 Compare that figure with eight wich is the topseller position Water Warfare has gained so far in the Swedish Nintendo Shop Channel. Let´s say only 50% of all WW users play it online... that means a whoppin eight sold games in the small country of Sweden. Eight sold games = top ten seller... blockbuster??
Other interesting figures from the online rankings lists:
eu... >100 users. http://www.hudson.co.jp/ww/waterwarfare/eur/e/local_03.html
us... <100 users. http://www.hudson.co.jp/ww/waterwarfare/usa/e/local_02.html
Is WiiWare a flop?
What is your countrys figures?

Another interesting thing about WW is it´s age ratings. 3+ in EU, E10+ in US and 12+ in Germany.

After playing 1 game online against 1 opponent and winning this, I checked my rankings and i was 27th for regional (UK) and 506th Worldwide.

KnucklesSonic8

Yeah, only 9 people have gone online in Canada as of last night.

I suppose you have to check the rankings to get listed, too. Either way I don't think the rankings are really the total number of people who bought WW. Maybe a large number plays it offline only? Maybe they bought it to have an FPS with local multiplayeR?

I think this will be one of the most underrated WiiWare game, sadly cause this looks like a fun FPS with quite a bit of stuff to do for a WiiWare game.

I belive you are right about this game being underrated. If not for the review on NintendoLife I would have not bought this game.

I rule when it comes to games. So deal with it.

I didn't go by reviews, but various first impressions. Once I heard the game controls exactly the same with Onslaught (I don't own, but I heard good things about it), and I sure hope it did since its from the same developer company, then I was going to get this. The only thing that did held me back is the popularity, especially with a game like The Conduit in the horizon, and the fact that people feel scared with the "kiddie" look.

B4 I read the review I thought this game looked like shovelware. I had no plans on buying it until I heard about how awsome it is.

I'm a huge fan of onslaught so knowing this was also by hudson, i got it the day it was released.

At first glance I was thinking this is way to kiddy for someone in there 20s. But I got thinking I enjoyed Onslaught and this could be fun and I can look past the kiddy graphics. I tried online for about 30 minutes and it was actually pretty fun and played the single player for about 20 minutes. All in all kiddy looking or not the game is pretty fun. The game really has quite a few options for a WiiWare game.

It's the same exact gameplay as any FPS, plus it has online play, a feature sorely lacking in most Wii games in general. Not only does it have online, but offline splitscreen!! You could argue this game offers more than The Conduit, since you can play Water Warfare if your friends come over as well.

On paper, there's no reason why this game shouldn't be a success. It's just that people who haven't read about it will think it's for kids and not try it.

Honestly I hate gamers who think they are too grown up to enjoy a game like water warfare, its good fun and that is what matters, hell isnt super mario just as childish? and we freaking love him

Thoughts: DAMN THE RAINCOAT!

But I love the game. Online is a blast (when people aren't camping on the raincoat).

Hey gang, instead of spamming the board with a new water warfare topic, I want to ask this here :

1. Does this game have much in the way of single player campaign or whatevere? See, I LIKED how Onslaught did their online, I thought that was a nice break from frag fest to have competitive cooperative scoring - but if this game is basicly buy for online death match I probably will not get it.....

Thanks in advance - M. Micawber

Also a dumb question perhaps - but is it slow to shoot like a real squirt gun, or is it basicly like a real gun only it shoots water? Know what I mean? Are we shooting streams or shots?

IGN: The holiday Wii lineup looks thin for the hardcore crowd. We see this. Gamers see this. What, if anything, is Nintendo planning to address it?

Oh good, I am neither a gamer or hardcore. Saves me from having to be IGNorant.

When you shoot water they go out as shots instead of streams.
