When is Nintendo going to release more Nintendo Selects games? Were Wii Sports, Twilight Princess, Mario Baseball, Animal Crossing the only games planned for it?
We could certainly get price drops on: Super Mario Galaxy NSMB Wii Metroid Prime 3 (or Trilogy) Wario Ware: Smooth Moves Super Smash Bros. Brawl Super Paper Mario Metroid Other M (because it's not selling enough; a price drop should boost sales)
So far thats the only games that are Nintendo Selects. If there are going to be others is all up to Nintendo. I dont know if a game has to sell a certain amount or if they are just chosen at random.
I dont think Metroid Prime Trilogy will ever be a Nintendo Select since that was a special deal but you never know.
Most budget lines (PlayStation's "Greatest Hits" and Xbox's "Platinum Hits") are for games that sell over 500,000 copies. NSMB Wii sold over 20 million. Super Mario Galaxy sold over 8 million. Super Smash Bros. Brawl sold who-knows-how-much. All of those games should qualify, plus they are old.

It all depends on what Nintendo says qualifies a game for that status.

There is no way Mario Baseball sold the same amount of copies as Wii Sports, Animal Crossing, or Twilight Princess, so I have no idea why Nintendo even included it in the Selects lineup.

1) It might have something to do with Nintendo owning the Seattle Mariners. I know its kinda a stretch.
2) They probably wanted to add another sport title to the list other than Wii Sports. Oddly enough Europe as part of their Nintendo Selects got Mario Strikers Charged (the Mario soccer game) instead of Mario Super SLuggers.

Why not Mario Kart Wii? Smash Bros. Brawl? Metroid Prime 3? Nintendo could have even re-released Metroid Prime Trilogy as a Selects title. Plenty of games could have been included in the Selects lineup. Instead we got Mario Sluggers and Animal Crossing. WTF?
As I said Metroid Prime Trilogy will more than likely not be released again and if it does I doubt it will be a Selects title. Mario Kart Wii is now bundled with the Wii instead and they probably couldnt price it for $20 with the wheel included.

Mario super sluggers wasn't released in Europe so we couldn't have had that as a nintendo selects game.
I expect Nintendo Selects was just Nintendo's way of putting out a few budget titles, all different (Wii Sports, Mario sports, Zelda and a life sim), for anyone who picked up a Wii after the price cut. I don't expect it'll be making a return, but you never know - Christmas isn't far off. Another set of four titles is always possible.
Mario Kart Wii wasn't included because it's now bundled with all Wii consoles and Metroid Prime Trilogy was a limited edition collector's item. Re-releasing it as a budget title would just be insulting.
How's that any different than dropping the price of any other game? And the DVD industry is always releasing "Collector's Editions" that are the only release. So it would be nothing new if Nintendo decided to re-release it.
Mario Kart Wii is still moving well. Every time I see a sales ranking MKW is close to the top. I don't think Nintendo would lower the price when the game is raking at $49.99.

That's the point of these budget lines. Games that sell well are branded as "Greatest Hits" (PlayStation) or "Platinum Hits" (Xbox).

Yes the Greatest Hits for PS and the Platinum Hits for Xbox are branded for games that sell so many copies. Who's to say that that is the criteria for the Nintendo Selects lines.
WHere is it written that if a game is a good seller they have to reduce the price? If you ask me thats a dumb business move, If a game is selling good at $49.99 why would you shoot yourself in the foot and lower the price and miss out on all that money?
If you are that worried about getting those games at a lower price why not look for used copies?

I don't buy used anymore. There are too many negative factors with buying used (scratched discs, no original box, etc. ).
Wow I dont know where you buy used games from but I never had that problem. Every used game I have bought has come with an original box and even if it didnt you tend to notice that thing before you buy the game.

If you're buying online you can get that problem. For example, I got a used copy of Golden sun and all I got was the cartridge in a small case so I had to find a scan of the instructions online.

Ah yeah sorry forgot about that. Yeah some of those online sellers can be less than honest. I buy used current games (like Wii and Xbox 360) from stores so that way I can get the box. Buying a retro game like an NES, Genesis or even GBA is a little tougher and I take what I can get which usually means no box and instructions.
