Now this is not going to be another thread about what VC games should be on the service but aren't. Instead I am going to talk about developers who were once big supporters of the VC and seem to have dissapeared. So let's get started... (the MIA dates are for NA region) Namco - MIA since March 25, 2009 - Namco has not released any VC games since the launch of the VC Arcade. They released three out of the four games for the service on that day, so it seemed to be a sign that they planned to heavily support the service. And they did, in Japan. They released tons of games for the VCA in Japan, so why did they stop supporting it in NA and EU? Perhaps they will start releasing VC games again, but it's been two years now... Konami - MIA since March 15, 2010 - Konami has been awfully quiet on the VC front for over a year now. I'm not sure if they are still supporting the Japanese VC, but there are still plenty of games that they could release for us gamers in NA and EU. Where is Castlevania Bloodlines? Where is Contra: Hard Corps? Heck, where is CONTRA? It's hard to believe one of the most popular NES games is still not available on the VC yet. At least they gave us Rondo of Blood before moving on. Sega - MIA since April 12, 2010 - I know that Monster World IV is coming out (at least in EU), but you can't deny that they have been neglecting the VC. It seems they are putting their games up on every other download service known to man. It could be that the other services are more profitable than the VC. But there are still many, many games that they could release onto the VC. I'd really love to see some more Master System games available, as that is a system I never played growing up. Commodore Gaming - MIA since November 9, 2009 - Now that's a joke. It's almost certain that they have given up on the VC, and the games they did put up seem to have been crippled with poor emulation. But hey, anything can happen I guess. Maybe they will start supporting the VC again. LucasArts - MIA since January 25, 2010 - While I am certainly happy that they put up the Super Star Wars games and Zombies Ate My Neighbors, there are still many games from their back catalog I would love to see on the VC. Some may think it's pointless, but I would love to see the NES Star Wars games, because they are completely different games as the SNES ones. And the game I want most to appear on the VC is Maniac Mansion. C'mon LucasArts, make it happen! While these companies seem to have given up, there is always hope they will come back. Don't forget D4 Enterprises was gone for over a year before coming back strong with more Neo Geo games, Capcom was MIA for over a year before coming back with a handful of VCA games (and hopefully more soon) and Hudson has certainly come back with a vengeance. I just hope Hudson releases more TG16 games, as it was a console I never played growing up as well. Square Enix and Natsume also appear to be big VC supporters now too, so that is good news for retro fans. I hope Natsume releases Abadox at some point. Anyways, did I forget any companies? What are your thoughts on why these companies have gone quiet on the VC front?

I wonder why some of these companies like Capcom, Konami and Taito, who have a plethora of old school arcade and NES?SNES classics available, don't just release some compilation discs of their old hits. We wouldn't have to wait an eternity for them to come out on VC and they would still stand to make a few bucks

Capcom and Taito did release a couple arcade compilations, just not on Nintendo consoles for some reason.
(Capcom Classics Collection and Taito Legends, with Taito making you buy Legends 2, I think it was, on PS2, XBox and PC just to get all the games. )

Taito needs to come on with it, with the virtual console.

Capcom is probably going to release another batch of arcade games this year. As for Taito, they released Darius Twin recently so we might see some more support from them.

Yeah I remember these, particularly enjoyed the Midway and Neo Geo compilations on my PS2, but I could always go for some more old school goodness on the wii
