This is your problem. GameMisinformer, amirite? Don't quote zero-quality trash rags.

Thank god. Now piss off from the DS too. Seriously nobody will miss you, Ubi.

I know, right? It's not like Red Steel 2 is one of the most anticipated WM+ titles. Oh wait.

It's true that Ubisoft isn't half the developer it was last generation (Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time/Beyond Good & Evil <333) but the shovelware is easily ignored. They still got us some nice exclusives and did a fairly good job as publisher.

Nope, Raving Rabbids 4 is still coming. Actually UbiSoft will still develop games for Wii. It wasn't completely dismissed. In fact I think sales were up by 10% this year. The biggest profit drop was with DS to which they did admit they're scaling back development. You'll still likely get many Ubisoft games on Wii, just not too many games you'd want to play.

That's a good business plan. Stop developing games for the number one console of this generation, just as it's most successful year begins. Nice one!

Im glad theyve gone. Someone else would have picked up the No More heroes series.

Trouble is with EA, UBISOFT and maybe even rising star games going, not sure what the future will hold for WII.

First party titles on the way such as Metroid are the ones im looking forward to now.

This machine is starting to look more like the dreamcast in its final cycle.

As others have said a second press release clarified this statement. Clearly this is politics and attempting to appease analysts prior to announcing lower revenues (see EA for a similar story, reasons). Whilst I can see Ubisoft scaling back in-house development (too many party games anyone?) I doubt they're going to stop publishing for the platform. The question is what will be published? Clearly Just Dance is proving to be a big hit for them in the UK and everyone seems to love Rabbids (but like everything that will run its course), so abandoning the system would be stupid and isn't even what was stated originally.

I don't know why anyone is actually glad they're gone. It doesn't mean they quit completely, it never means that. It just means more shovelware. They will continue to make the stuff on Wii they KNOW will be successful and that doesn't mean quality. It was a big surprise to me that they published games like No More Heroes 2 and Clash of Heroes. They had hardcore efforts that fell flat like COP the Recruit (DS) and an original version of Avatar, but it wasn't because they weren't passionate about the projects.

Plus they brought Wii owners quality efforts like the Shaun White games and Rabbids Go Home. Red Steel 2 will likely be good as well.

I still think they may have a couple of quality titles releasing on Wii later this year that we don't know about. I just don't get why everyone feels having one less pub/dev is good for Wii owners.

Ubisoft and Wii colaberation are fine ffs

"They say video games are bad for you? That's what they said about rock n' roll."

I actually really enjoyed Red Steel, I think I played through it like maybe 3 times and that doesnt happen much with me. I dont think they are going to completely pull out of Wii development but it takes years to make games and the Wii will obviously see a new console (that the developers prob already know about and are developing games for) so its not suprising to see these companies starting to say this. Basically the Wii is at the end of its lifecycle and is looking like its going to go out with a ABSOLUTE BANG Then on the Wii 2 or whatever Nintendo and there crazy marketing guys decide to name it. Maybe Nintendo Life Console or someting lol. Wii is getting a upgrade and still getting really great games on its way, this is a pretty dang good thing in my opinion.

Yeah I don't get it either

Ubisoft and a bunch of other developers and publishers (25% actually) are cutting their good stuff and Wii owners are happy?

No wonder most of them are okay with the Wii not having many games. lol

who is cutting their good stuff? what 25%? there's nothing but a few misquoted statements about companies stopping their shovelware. there are some good ubisoft titles and it looks there will still be.

So ends a saga older than time itself.

is delivered from its fear of extinction. As the sun sets over the
