1. Is this Samus' first adventure? (Game seems to focus on her younger days)
2. The girl at the end of the E3 trailer that Samus says "I'm Samus Aran" to, is she from another Metroid game?

1: No this game sums up the events between the events of Super Metroid and Prime 1, and then some. Metroid/Metroid Zero Mission is the beginning of the storyline.
2. Nope.

Metroid Fusion (2002)

There's also rumblings that Other M may include story-scene flashbacks set before the original Metroid.
