@JamieO Hey np. I hope you enjoy the game that you get.
The voices in Klonoa didn't really bother me. I played through the game with both languages to see how they were. I do think some lines are delivered better in the Phantomile language. Anyway, I'm pretty okay with a lot of stuff. I don't know why, but it just don't bother me.

Muramasa: The Demon Blade is not available from the Canadian importer until at least the 9th September, so I still have time to decide. Muramasa is £38 ($62.34 USD) with import postage, which is quite a bit more than I have paid for a game recently. Then again in 1992 I used to buy cartridges for that much, so I am definitely not complaining. Muramasa has the most recommendations, 10 so far, with Klonoa's 3 fans slowly catching up to the 5 for Wario Land. I am playing on a 32" LCD, so it is a bit of the shame that Wario has side borders, not that it affects the gameplay in any way. My original comment about playing a game "like 3D never happened", was a bit non-descript. I actually really like 2.5D gameplay, as @skywake mentioned, the interaction between the Klonoa foreground and background is inventive (I probably should have mentioned that I already have Klonoa 2 on PS2). I see 2.5D as a natural progression of the polygon based "Super FX 2" chip trickery, that Nintendo was implementing in SNES Yoshi's Island in 1995. Thanks again for all of the advise and discussion everyone, as soon as I send off my order for the game, I will post which one I decided to buy.
I am passionate about retro gaming, from antiquated consoles to the continuation of classics. Obviously I love PSone, and PS2 retro games. I blast my ears to breakneck melodic punk, gruff vocals and nimble alternative guitar hooks.
@TheFox - Fair point, my use of language was a bit over the top. I chose to use the more dramatic noun 'masterpiece', mainly so that I could grab people's attention towards helping me with my question. I am not the only person who thinks that these three games are brilliant though. Even considering Murasama, which has only just been released, they have been received with consistent praise throughout the video gaming world (below). Wario Land: Shake It!/ The Shake Dimension (GamesTM Iss.75= 8/10, ONM= Iss,34 88%, Nintendo Life= 8/10, IGN= 8.4/ 8.3). Klonoa (Retro Gamer Iss.66= 92%, ONM Iss.45= 80%, Nintendo Life= 9/10, IGN= 8.0, 1UP= A+). Muramasa: The Demon Blade (IGN= 8.9, 1UP= A-, GamePro= 4 1/2 stars). Often I think about games and I take into account perspective and hindsight. For example in 2025, when Wii becomes a retro gaming machine, top ranking/ selling games like Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart Wii will still be easy enough to get hold of. It is the likes of MadWorld, No More Heroes, Zak and Wiki, Sin and Punishment 2 and the well received 2D games that I have highlighted, which will be rarer and more sought after. It is from this perspective that people will describe them as hidden gems and possibly even masterpieces.
A wise gamer considers which games they should buy now, because they understand that they may be difficult to get hold of in the future.
@odd69 Therefore I completely agree with odd69, I will eventually buy all three of these games. It is just that I do not have much money at the moment, (darn students!). My question should have more specifically asked; which of the three games would you advise me to purchase first?

All great. Muramasa is the one to get. If you're a family gamer either of the other two would be fine. In the altter case I'd go for WarioLand Shake It
"They say video games are bad for you? That's what they said about rock n' roll."
I haven't played Klonoa yet(although I hear it is very good)and don't really intend on playing Muramasa(to me it seems more fighting oriented than platforming)but I have played Wario Land and it is easily one of my favorite platformers EVER! If you are a true 2D platforming fan you will fall in love with Wario Land instantly. Not a very long game if you just go right through it but if you go through and get all the extras and do all the missions it will easily give you 20-30 hours of gameplay. It is my favorite Wii game EASILY and even though I probably liked it more than most other people I promise you will really love Wario Land. If you want true greatness in the 2D platforming genre, this is what you should buy.
Muramasa and Klonoa, no question. The former if you like lite-RPG elements in your 2D sidescrollers, the latter if you like traditional Mario-esque platforming adventures. Wario Land: Shake It! is also a very good game, so I'd recommend picking it up at some point in the future.
Cheers @TheFox , I did think that you were pulling my leg, my lengthy reply is more indicative of the way I always spout on and on about games. Forums like this are actually saving my girlfriend's ears from a constant battering, "Isn't it cool that there will be new 16:9...HD.....Bonk....Blah...RayStorm...Blah...new 2D Sonic...Blah...". She is really relieved that it is now the Nintendo Life users that have to listen to me ramble on. lol Cheers for suggesting Muramasa, I appreciate it, just like I'm grateful for everyone else's recommendations (e.g. I take @rhythmheavenfan 's Wario Land comment "favorite Wii game EASILY" as being a huge recommendation) Thanks again everyone, I will order my new game tomorrow night.

Thank you to for all of your feedback, Nintendo Life users. I have made my mind up and ordered my new game....drum roll..... I bought Muramasa. Here are the final vote numbers: 1. Muramasa: The Demon Blade = 12 votes 2. Wario Land: Shake It! = 8 votes 3. Klonoa = 3 votes Like I said you are a cool bunch of gamers & you have actually made me even more eager to buy all 3 of these games. Now head back over to the Wii forums and chat with @SuperSonic1990 about 'How far are you in Muramasa:The Demon Blade?'. Cheers again everyone.
