You should port over your other games you have for the PC, they all seem like good WiiWare games. That Pearl Harbor Game would probably do well with motion controls, even Motion Plus.
You've got no competition -- that's a very good thing and will get you more attention and sales than later games guaranteed.
I just started this last night. Voice acting is top-notch and I like the visuals. I'm not as down on the wave to swordfight, as it does get my shoulder hurting after awhile --- especially on the back of playing Mushroom Men! Still, there is something satisfying about swiping to bust a crate.
@eripmav: You can add another nine bucks to that little sales log thingy I'm sure you're keeping. Just got it today. The load times are a bit annoying, as is the quirky waggle attack, but I'm sure once I sit down and really play it I'll warm up to it.
I'm considering this game (I would have already bought it if it just were 800pts.), I'm a platformer freak , the game looks are good and it seems funny, but I have a question is this game more about: a) Precise jumping? b) Eliminating enemies? c) Solving puzzles?
a) I've had no problems with the jumping so far. b) Takes some practice, but I'm on level 3 part 2 and I can take them out easily pretty consistently. c) Haven't encountered many puzzles yet, but so far there are some simple key finding puzzles, which are fun.
@pixelman Thank you for your reply . Mmmm this seems the kind of game I like, the jumping is the most important thing ; I guess I'll wait till tomorrow and, if nothing specially good comes up, I may get this one.
Btw pixelman do you like my new avatar? I hope you can make me one, when you get some time.
Beat the game this past week. I'd put it near the NL score moreso than the IGN score. It has a number of flaws, though.
Somewhat spotty swing recognition Repetitive Boss Fights Short Game Length (shorter than I expected, even) Sudden Transitioning At-times Unfair Platform Jump Mechanics
Combined, the game is weakened significantly. HOWEVER, i still enjoyed the title's premise, style, and basic gameplay ideas. I think that, if Legendo gives a more polished title, they could get something big out. Porting PC games is okay at first, but going from 300 to 40 meg is like taking Braid, doubling its size, and then shrinking it to fit. It was bound to lead to issues. I commend the effort, though.
Overall, I'll keep my eyes out for Legendo's next title, but please, make sure it is not so rough around the edges. It might be easier to just make a game on Wii hardware rather than go on a limb porting extremely large PC titles over.
Well, my thoughts on the game are in my latest blog update. I'm not a big fan of platform games to start with; this one fell into SMB3/M64 territory -- for me that's not a good thing, but if you really like platform games and have more patience for them than I do it's worth a look.
I don't think Daemon even played the entire game when he did the review. All of the footage he posted was from the first level.
@Twilight+Crow: Yeah, it's a bit busy, but I like it.
@eripmav: Echo what 0-Watt said: Legendo's next WiiWare game should be specifically for the WiiWare service. Ohhhh yeah, and can you give us any hints as to a new title? Is there definitely one in the works?
lol Pathos. I wish I had money, I'm all out of points. Well, that's a lie...I have 300 points...It's just not enough to get anything...
Sean Aaron ~ "The secret is out: I'm really an American cat-girl." Q: How many physicists does it take to change a light bulb? A: Two, one to hold the light bulb, the other to rotate the universe.
ONM have also annoyed me, looks like they didn't invest any time what so ever into actually playing the game at all!
As for the next title, I don't even know if we can carry on tbh.
Well I hope you can. Though I honestly don't expect WiiWare sales to be that great. You should consider the Iphone and PSN Store as other methods of income, as well as porting your other games, like I stated earlier. I imagine you wouldn't be able to sell games at the same price on the Iphone, I imagine you'd get more sales so it might be better in the end.
