The average consumer who buys the Wii may not know how to hack but there's a good chance that they won't be the ones fussing about not getting to play this anyway.
I'm sure anyone who wants to play it that badly can search around the Internet and read tutorials until their Wii is succesfully hacked. =P

And I think even fewer people are willing to potentially brick their Wii and void their warranty just to play a single game.

I'd love to play this and I'd put up the fifty bucks to do so in a heartbeat. I'm not going to do anything out of the ordinary to get it though. If Nintendo doesn't want my money then they don't have to take it. :3

Yeah, well in the end I guess it just depends how much you want the game and how far you're willing to go to get it.
If it was the other way around and it was only coming to the UK I'd definitely import it but that's just because I really want this game and there's no way I'm going to miss out on it.
But conveniently I won't have to do that anyway.

Well not only do you void your warranty, if something happens to your hacked Wii, Nintendo can refuse to repair it, meaning you'd have to buy a new one

I guess it depends if you're willing to risk it or not.
I would, but it's just personal choice.
