Topic: The Last Story - Chapter 15 - HELP!

First of all, I gotta say how much fun I'm having playing a game with so few spoilers and walkthroughs available online to tempt me to skip ahead! The flip-side of that, though, is when I'm looking for small peices of advice and there are very few FAQs available, thus making me really question the smaller choices.

At the start of chapter 15, I went straight ahead through the gates as in the walkthrough video below:

However, I did notice that if you go BACKWARDS instead of forwards, you drop down a little ledge, and if you keep going back then you eventually come across a whole mess of level 40 badass opponents with two treasure chests waiting to be opened once the battle is over. I'm only level 21-ish across the board, and I can barely touch these things right now, so my instinct is to ignore them and just go through the gates without going back to confront them... BUT, I bet there's something GOOD in those chests if they're being guarded by such high-level beasts.

Anyone know if I can just come back later? Or am I gonna have to waste hours of my day trying to get the fluke victory so I can get whatever the hell's in those chests...?

Cool. So I can just continue breezing through this chapter, safe in the knowledge that I'll return to this island and be able to get this stuff later? If so then thank you very much, you've put my mind at ease. I hate when you think "I'll do that later" in an RPG but the game doesn't let you.
