The Wii Browser uses Adobe Flash Lite, so they can't just update to Flash Player version 10. Right now, I'm pretty sure that the Wii Browser is as updated as possible... to do anything more would require Adobe to improve Flash Lite first.

Does anyone even use the Wii browser to go online? I only have like twice and thought it was worse then death, I only use it if I have no other choice.

Oh well no biggie.
@Splat Have not touched it since last fall. I used to use finetune radio on it but that was about the only use I could find for it.

Maintenance, most likely.

Last time I saw such a thing was when the Connection Ambassador Promotion and the Free NES-game came, so....

I do sometimes, but the uses are mostly limited:

  • It's still the best way to conveniently access the Blastworks Depot if you want to download new content (user-generated levels, ships, shapes, etc).
  • YouTube works and is fun to have on the TV at parties or get togethers.
  • There are a couple of Flash gaming sites worth checking out, although they tend to be light diversions at best.
  • FineTune is great (assuming you take the time to make some good mixes) and probably the best reason to use your Wii Internet Channel on a regular basis.

Yeah the browser isn't good for normal browsing and webmail is often terrible with it. However ejamer had some good suggestions for it.

wiicade is pretty good for wii flash games and I found that the games on http://www.ferryhalim.com/orisinal/ work pretty well and are relaxing.

But yeah the wii browser is best used for media or some specialized purpose than for normal browsing. I'd like to see some updates to the internet channel that make it more like the normal opera are better for general browsing.

Also, I'd really like to see wiiware demos again.
