I'm surprised that Disney is investing in a sequel, given that the original wound up in the bargain bins so quickly. Not to disparage the game, but I can't see that it made much money.
Hype for Epic Mickey the original was very good, even once released there were complements to it's gameplay. Reviews were mediocre at best, and sales, well.... It should be interesting to see what direction this project takes
Very nice! I would definitely buy Epic Mickey 2! I enjoyed the first game very much. Sure it had its fair share of problems but just on gameplay ideas and atmosphere alone it gets a thumbs-up in my book. A polished presentation goes a long way with me. I would hope in the sequel they would tighten up the controls and fix the camera though.
If a horrid game like Little King's Story can get a sequel, I guess anything's possible. Epic Mickey was a let down, but it was still a great concept. They could really improve on the RPG elements and give Mickey some new ways to interact with his environment. There's a dozen tiny little things I'd like to see changed as well. Get rid of Gus and just let me play the game. Also if Kingdom Hearts has voice acting, why not Epic Mickey?
I thought Mickey was a great, but flawed, game that was perhaps a bit too ambitious for its own good. Now that they have the structure in place, they can focus on polish and pacing. I'm definitely up for a sequel.

epic mickey wasn't that bad. i liked it but had a hard time getting through levels. but there was nothing wrong with the gameplay or style. if you haven't played it you have no right to judge the game
Want: Harvest Moon: One World, Story of Seasons: Pioneering Town, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury
Finished the Alola Dex.
Now playing New Horizons, Wrath of White Witch and Sword
Epic Mickey was amazing because of its story. It was a brilliant welcome back to Oswald that had so much love put into it. A sequel, however, can't rely on the story alone again, they'll need to completely overhaul the gameplay.

Thing is, Little King's Story isn't a "horrid" game. You may not have liked it but it was very, very well made.
