Katzii, are you like undercover and you're actually part of the development team or something? 'Cause that's what it seems like to me.
Nope. Just someone curious to find people who want to look at this game in an objective light as opposed to commenting on Spyro's redesign. Which is why I'm asking what about the game itself is ugly. The environments look pretty visually pleasing, in my opinion, and the characters look good in motion.
Just got my copy of the game today, and having a great time with it. I really hope more people can look past the character redesign and appreciate the game for what it is.

I'm really only interested at all if it plays like a collectathon 3D platformer comparable to the PS1 games and/or if it gets a huge amount of praise from enough people. And even then it would only be once I ran out of new games and even some old games to get.
especially since the last time a 64 bit favorite of mine was rebooted, it was Nuts and Bolts. Yeah...
I'd play this over Nuts and Bolts, and I didn't even think Nuts and Bolts was too terrible. Just a very long and arduous task. This is pretty basic "platforming" with some fairly undifficult puzzles from what I've seen thus far, but it's pretty fun. There is plenty of collecting to do in each level (such as finding scrolls, legendary treasures, hats, et cetera) and lots of secrets to find out.
yeah but like "pretty fun" is not what I look for in games anymore. Most of the games I play nowdays outside of maybe some free indy titles, are great. There are an absurd amount of great games I haven't played, and many more that will be released, pretty good games just don't compare to that honestly.
maybe if renting games outside of the internet is a thing that exists again?

This could be another one of those "great games" you'll miss, the last few Spyro games have been great.
Well, I've seen a few reviews and now I really want to ask my boss to ask for a review copy ^^' It really looks like a fun little game and the concept is financially speaking a genius idea. Overall, I don't really like the design (Spyro is not cute anymore), but some characters have style.
It is a fun game - both console and handheld versions. I pity the people who won't get the chance to play it because of their hangups over Spyro's design. It's not like it was ever that visually appealing in the first place, to be honest and, as unappealing as people say his design is, it animates really, really well in cutscenes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRrn9akG-qg
I'm personally excited as hell for this. Hans Zimmer did the music, two of the writers from Toy Story wrote the script, and there's some good voice actors on board. The toy idea is also brilliant and if I was still a kid my mind would have been blown. This game is going to be huge, every little kid I know and all of their friends at school are doing nothing but talking about this game.
As for Spyro...yes, his design is ugly...in that picture. He looks a lot better in motion. Still, I wish he looked less...mean and angry. Although, wouldn't you be ticked off at the world if you were put in crappy game after crappy game? XD
