Did anyone here get to play Skylander's Spyro at E3 or elsewhere yet? Just curious to see what you think, I did pre-order for $75, collecting all those characters would cost a fortune though...
For $75 you get three figures with it. You will have to buy at least one additional figure to be able to beat the game because of the different abilities they have. There are 32 in all ($8 each). I like that the figures hold all your character data so you can use them with the 3DS or PC versions of the game.
I for one am actually looking forward to this game; the concept intrigues me and you don't need to buy any more figurines to complete the story; rather just to go in different areas, so it can be beaten just with the initial three on all formats. I'm going to get the console one to play with a friend when he comes to visit, and the 3DS one to tide me over in the meantime!
The original PSone Spryo games > every other Spryo game.
I may only own Nintendo consoles now but I have played some games on non-nintendo consoles and the first three are definitely the best but there were a few good Spyro games last generation but all of his games this generation have been rubbish.
Spyro games used to be fun, then they gradually started to suck. If they decided to make the games crap it's only fitting that they make Spyro himself look crap now too.
I disagree, I think the Spyro trilogy than began on Gamecube and ended on the Wii were the best. The last 2 were very hard but they kept my attention to the end which is more than most of the previous Spyro games did.

I read that you have to buy at least one more figurine in order to complete it, something about needing 4 to cover all the elements and it only comes with 3.
Thing is though, there are eight elements, and all the video interviews I've heard with the developers and the like have said that you only need the starter set to complete the game. More figures are probably needed to access certain "elemental" areas, but the story itself can be finished with the original three.
Katzii, are you like undercover and you're actually part of the development team or something? 'Cause that's what it seems like to me. I've read a few articles in Nintendo Power, and it seems like a cool concept, but it's so expensive. To complete everything would cost MORE than a 3DS or Wii - roughly 302 dollars (292 for the 3DS). No one is willing to pay that much, and if you have to at least spend 70 (60 for the 3DS) dollars to complete the game, that's still too much. I like that Hans Zimmer is making the soundtrack though. (according to NP) Oh yeah plus the characters are just plain ugly.
it doesn't anymore, and I honestly hope they either remember why people liked the series or that everyone involved who is actually talented goes on to do something of value
