I downloaded Sin and punishment: Successor of the earth today and chose to store it on my SD card but despite that I still had to move some games to my SD card to because I needed 291 free blocks of Wii system memory. Does anyone know why I had to do this?

It's normal. I think the Wii temporarily stores whichever SD card game in its internal memory. When you start another game from there it's overwritten. It's an easier solution than having to manually copy the game to your internal memory and to delete it each time you want to play another one.

Ok, thanks. It would be good if the Wii didn't have such a small system memory. Hopefully that won't be the same with the Wii U.

Yes, the Wii read always all games directly to the hard disc. When we have a game stored in a SD the Wii do a "temporal copy" to the hard disc to read the game. When we play another SD card game the Wii delete the previous temporal copy and make a new temporal copy. You can see this when you go to your memory storage system and see a temporal backup of the last SD played game.

Me gusta jugar videojuegos. Soy de México. Sorry my english grammar. I love the Virtual Console, party and fighting games too.
