I've opened a new Online Gaming thread for it in order so like, match-making can happen and such.

Game looks pretty cool. How is that extra mode that was inspired by a nes game?

It's much the same as the rest of the game, with a different plot, and original locations. It's good fun, especially with a custom character, and a good way to grind your way up to the higher levels. It's also quite difficult.

Time to bump this thread. I've been playing the game steadily offline since I picked it up, and finally got a steady online connection again.

I've completed 12 story modes, and levelled a custom-created character to 41 thorugh the historical and castle modes - about 30 hours all up.

There is a tonne of content in this game. I've still got 20-odd stories to complete, and a hell of a lot more loot to find. Can't recommend this enough.

Bah, I was considering picking this up but I saw it's increased in price! I should have picked it up at release!

How many hours of gameplay do you need for a full-priced game? Samurai Warriors 3 outlasts most RPGs!

It's more that I'm not really into Musou style games... and there's plenty of other games I want so I was looking to get it at bargain price.

Wanna get this for 2player onlinez. Is it the full game in co-op or somethin' else?

There's a mode in the game - Murasame Castle - which features a whole bunch of levels where you take either a custom character, or one of the game's main characters, and kill demons. That's the online mode. It's got all the same weapon drops and so on as the story mode, but it's a fantasy setting - and much more difficult.

So you can't play the story mode online (a pity, a vs game there would be epic), but the Castle mode is better suited to co-op hack and slashing anyway.

Thanks for the info WaltzElf. Tis a shame it's not full co-op as I was hoping to play through the game with someone, awww booo. I'll still be getting it tho' as it looks f'n cool. I'll let you know when I do.

Whoo! Played my first online games last night - a good solid couple of hours. Despite the inability to comunicate with the other guy the game moves very smoothly, I noticed no lag whatsoever, and slaughtering legions with a buddy is always good fun.

Addiction to this game just got worse - although I've now finished 3/4 of the story modes. It's also now my most played Wii game, according to the stats.

I need to put some more time into this; could happen tonight!

...and now it's my most played game of all time on my Wii... first game to jump over 50 hours..

Sounds like a great game! Not played many Musou games but the ones I have are great fun. I'll pick this up once it's out for NA consoles.

...Although I've played over 500 hours in Monster Hunter Tri.

Should be out next week I think in North America. I'm doing a hints and tips sheet on my blog which should be up in time for the release.

And once it is released, if anyone struggles with the castle mode, then quite happy to help out. I've got Maxxed out characters etc etc.

So the game is out now in the US - anyone pick it up? If so I'm keen to exchange FCs - I'm still playing this one regularly!

I must say that I watched some videos and yes, the game looks pretty cool, but idk if I should get it, im not rich and there are other tons of great games also coming, these game is also coming for the 3DS so maybe I will skil the Wii one and get the 3DS one.

For what it's worth, the game is my most played Wii game, and great value for money. Again I say I reckon it's the best Wii game to date.

It was actually Samurai Warriors 3 that was announced for the 3DS, but since then it's been rumoured to be renamed Chronicles. Probably it's because Koei like to port the games to wherever but they can't due to it having Nintendo owned content so they're pulling a Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and renaming the game, removing the content, and then porting that to the other systems. It's already been rumoured for a PS3 release.
